What is so bad about t16? Just because t17 has more loot, which it obv should have, doesn't mean t 16 is bad...I did my map device slot and encountered those eater ballz. I mean wtf ubermega buggy. Will not do again on a regular base, tyvm...
I run t 16 and i like it. 16k gold per map with some domination and ambush scarabs, fine so far. I hope to see that darrn dude soon for div card switcherinos, though... Last edited by Strickl3r on Aug 2, 2024, 8:39:59 AM

I agree. T16s are basically useless unless you run 8-mod corrupted with 100c worth of scarabs... but then why would I use 100c of scarabs on T16 maps when T17s exist. It seems like they're afraid to give non-T17 mappers actual loot, which I don't understand.

" This. I stand by this. I'm glad I didn't get into the Affliction juicing strats when it happened, because apparently it rotted the brains of everyone who became addicted to MF. What I'm experiencing right now is pretty normal and on par with every single league that came before and after it. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. | |

I played in the early days when Dominus was the end boss and mapping was something only the hardcore players could even manage, then took a break and hopped back in at midway through harvest, which was insane. Then Heist was pretty good, mainly because of new gems and heist actually had good drops. I *think* LOK was after it? Which made the carrot stick way too long. Got a ways playing ED/contagion since minion builds died after heist, but the grind sucked too hard. Then came back at adfliction after a long break. I've missed a lot in there, but of the leagues I have pkayed, the very reason that I haven't played a lot of the ones in between is because it seems like there is no par for the course. Affliction was very generous in the sense I could afford a few solid end game builds, without doing team strats or 3 mirror mf gear. For sheer crazy gear? Harvest was better, but you could afford good enough stuff with affliction. Brain rot though? Because you could try a few builds out and get your own MB without it being a full time job for the average pleb? Naw. Affliction was too much but not by a lot. The problem with the leagues is there is no normal. GGG is way too reactive. They make knee jerk decisions, which is their perogative, but it turns a lot of players off when the contrast between leagues is so substantial. There's no standard. The result feels like every time GGG goes ham and does a league like affliction, they seem to be like someone coming off a bad bender and deciding to tighten up and start drinking water instead and a lot of people predictably liked their older self. |

Affliction was what was called a farce during the victorian age. A short, ridiculous comedy for the plebs that can't afford real theatre.
