Out of touch - congrats you've made POE 1.5

Yeah unfortunately I dont think they can deliver on what they promised they are only use to giving one kind of gaming experience and dont think they can get out of there own mindsets for the last decade to achieve it. To be honest I'm pretty sure they knew if they told everyone it was gonna be like poe 1 ppl who already didnt like 1 wouldn't give 2 a chance.methodical combat would be nice actual skill comboing would be nice but I gave up on believing we will get it at this point. In the qna about life on the passive tree they said players dont actually understand why they are dying but do nothing to help players understand why they are dying

poe 2 is not poe1.5
but poe 2 does have big big problems whit melee combat , its just bad . |

0.5 really feels like the nail in the coffin for the vision enjoyers to me. It hasn't peaked fully to PoE1 levels, but they didn't make any major course corrections, so it's clear this game is never going to have souls-like or monster hunter combat. That vision always felt like hopium to me anyways and I prefer this direction. Though I do agree I understand less and less the point in keeping both games going. At least I'm happy with the direction of 2 (other than socketables), so I'm pretty cool with whatever happens so far.

" I wouldnt say big problems with melee combat, its mainly just mace skills that are slow. I've played alot of quarterstaves with ice strike & shattering palm, its extremely fast since both of those abilities dash you to monster packs and with herald of ice and shattering palm explosions you can screen clear during mapping. Once they release swords/axes/flails I am pretty confident that the feel of play with warrior gets way better. |

Yep. Congratulations ggg.
You’ve suckered us, the ones who would never have bought into this had we known you’d revert back to the clusterfest garbage of poe1. I rate your bait and switch 1 Nigerian prince out of 5 learing centres. |

" Screen clear isn't compatible with the notion of melee. PoE1 players are so detached from reality they don't even understand what melee means. You know what melee skills are? All those skills that nobody use because they can't screen clear, those are truly melee. The rest that are used and are "melee" are just used as a proxy or catalyst for some interaction that makes the screen clear possible, but not the skill itself doing the job. "Sigh"

I do agree with hoping this would have been more of a DEX players game.
My favorite part is still 0.1 when Geonor killed me 27 times and the progression was slower, I was full of rare gear maybe in act 3. Now I'm fully rare by Freythorn. Also the visual clarity I was hoping to be better. The animations are sick and all, but co-op especially is basically unplayable if you still want to interact with boss mechanics and such. That being said, we haven't seen the patch notes yet. Maybe they heavily nerfed the top end brainless zoomies like CoC, +levels to skills etc. And hopefully the pinnacle bosses are actual demanding fights and not just dying on sight. I'm still loving the game tho, Atlas with this new vision has so much potential. I'm excited for 0.5 and 1.0+. My biggest wish would be that skills/weapons had more base damage and the item mods would have less. So it wouldn't be as swingy as it is now. And that bosses, especially Act and Pinnacle bosses were more balanced, longer fights. Everything doesn't have to come down to them one shotting us or us one shotting them ideally. " Couldn't agree more. I actually had to learn the moveset of bosses in order to clear them and that felt super rewarding. Tweaking my build when it was seemingly impossible. Drops felt impactful and identifying them was exciting. Some light crafting here and there slamming exalts hoping for a relevant mod. Playing werewolf druid I felt none of these things and I think that made me hate the druid class more than I genuinely did since I felt zero friction and was destroying all the content with minimal effort. I think the future is bright but I want to make sure GGG understands that there's a good section of the playerbase (and potential future customers) that want a challenge. We don't want to outsource all our solutions to spreadsheets. That these spreadsheet warriors are a tiny fraction of the community and while I respect that that's how they want to play the game, the vast majority of players aren't that sweaty. | |

Well, I'm a totally new player to the PoE series. Since I haven't played PoE1, I'm fine with a PoE1.5, though I might still prefer more "intentional" gameplay as I'm also a souls player.
Nevertheless, the key here is that player character and monsters' power should match. Now we're having a souls character and ARPG monsters. Either make them both slow or make them both fast. |
