Game Develoment is harder than anythign in the entertainment Business by far.
Even if you love an Artist or a musicial and he put out a bad track you won't go to the forums and talk about it- instead you just skip it. But with video games we become really passionate because we sink so much time in it and this time does not feel respected. It has become clear after this announcement and especially after watching Chris Wilson talk to Jonathan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0PhEFcIkg4 that GGG is missing a Systems Designer at the upper echelons. Jonathan, in his own words is making new acts and areas and char classes, and Mark does league stuff and bosses. All OG Systems Designers left GGG and there seems to be a void. For those who don't know Systems designer are responsible to weave all the designs together: How damage, health, and stats work. Economy and resource systems (money, crafting materials, etc.). Progression systems (XP, leveling, unlocks, talent trees). Combat mechanics and balance. AI behaviors and interactions. Camera systems, physics rules, status effects, etc. Literally all Feedback here about game feel is completely ignored, because GGG Does not have a capable systems designer and that really shows: ✔ massive disparity between the design of melee combat and ranged combat. TTK and e.g.: each melee swing = selfroot ? why is there no fluiod gameplay? ✔ Band Aids instead of Vision for Pacing: Introduced Sprint, as the most clunkiest mechanic i have ever seen ✔ Canyon disparty between Life / ES ✔ Archaic mechanics from the 90s era that disencourage modern players from playing - 1 Portal Maps ( multiple layers of punishment for death ) - Games fight for attention more than ever - you have to find friction somewhere else. ✔ Zoom Zoom Combat from POE1 has overtaken POE2 ✔ each Patch introduces even more crafting currencies that have to be run trouch an external simulator to find the most efficient way to craft a simple item : completely alienating console andys and new players. ✔ Visual Clairity goes down every patch This update is nothing more but a drop in the ocean from out of touch devs. Last edited by dend3lol#4714 on May 8, 2026, 1:36:06 AM

That's true - POE 2 is nothing what was promised.
IT's just in pace poe 1 - one shot or be one shoted is 90% of the situations. - Game rewards more projectiles, more speed and there's nothing like "less projectiles and more damage" situations" - poor clarity what is going on screen. To much of monsters, monsters are not tough, it's just zooming. - presentation showcased as example this OWL: all negative stuff = more projectiles, more projectile speed, effects on ground.. terrible design. |
