Out of touch - congrats you've made POE 1.5
" Unfortunately for you and your like, I paid an entry price for an EA for a game that was pitched differently then what it's turning into. So they will keep receiving my feedback in that respect at least until I feel like I and others like me will be properly addressed. "Sigh"

When PoE2 was hard, a vocal minority cried about difficulty. The reality is many players cannot handle mechanical gameplay.
You farm, grind, and invest endless hours playing mindless slop just to get stronger. But for what? In a "zoom-zoom" meta, that effort turns into nothing. You are literally grinding through brainless content just to unlock the exact same brainless slop at the endgame. Gearing up serves no purpose if the ultimate reward is just turning your brain off even harder. Every build becomes identical. It does not matter if you play melee, a caster, or a ranger. The gameplay is the same: run forward, explode the screen, and skip the mechanics. The only differences are skill colors and movement speed. True depth completely evaporates. We wanted a game where the journey mattered. The campaign felt incredible because progression was earned and skill combos actually felt meaningful. The devs do not have to abandon one side for the other. They could easily integrate tactical gameplay and zoom-zoom speed into a balanced economy if they wanted to. The devs claim we can simply choose to play a slower style, but that choice makes no sense under their current design philosophy. Their vision of a "slower style" is deeply flawed, they think a slow slam attack that still clears the entire screen counts as tactical play. It doesn’t. That is just a slow-motion version of the exact same screen-wipe logic. It asks players to be slow for no reason, without providing any actual mechanical engagement. True tactical play means engaging with monster mechanics, managing positioning, and utilizing combo strings - not just waiting longer for an AoE explosion to delete the map. Because screen-clearing builds dominate the economy instantly, genuine mechanical builds are left completely unviable. Melee classes are the last chance to fix this balance. Slower weapons like maces do not need massive AoE screen wipes to stay economically viable. That ruins the melee fantasy. Instead, the devs should introduce dedicated Atlas alterations for tactical play. We need Atlas keystones that: • Reduce pack size but heavily increase monster health, mechanics, and drop quality. • Focus on single-target blasting and smaller map sizes of existing maps instead of open-field clearing. This lets zoom-zoom players have their screen clears. Simultaneously, it gives mechanical players a rewarding, high-value farming strategy. If GGG wants to save PoE2 from becoming PoE 1.5, they must let us choose our pacing on the Atlas. Last edited by Burn4#0434 on May 13, 2026, 12:23:56 AM

" Exactly. I think most people who cry a lot about "meaningful combat" really want to be playing a game like Hades, or maybe No rest for the wicked, and why not, those are excellent games, but they are entirely different games. If you want "methodical" combat you need to have reasonably controlled, most likely hand crafted environements and encounters, and a manageable number of enemies. You can't have "methodical" combat when there is 50 monsters rushing down on you from every possible direction it's just not possible, and at the end of the day, blowing up monsters by the dozen is just what most people want to do, it's how this game works and that's where it excels. Very few people are going to be willing to perform a 3-step combo for every white pack of mobs. Although personally I think a proper ruthless mode in poe 2 could help a lot and provide an outlet for people who want to prolong slower paced and multi-button gameplay past the campain. I'd actually play that. Last edited by LFA01#0120 on May 13, 2026, 3:15:02 AM

" 3 step combo should be performed for elites, not every white pack. When the game is well balanced. |

" Exactly. I think most people who cry a lot about not wanting "meaningful combat" really want to be playing a game like PoE1, or maybe Minesweeper, or scribbling on MS Paint and why not, those are excellent games, but they are entirely different games. Thanks anyway, I'm well aware of what this game has become now, a shadow of what could have been and not what it was originally stated to be. |

Games should first and foremost be fun, no matter what form they take.
Does it even matter whether a game has "soul" or not? Labeling, stereotyped characterization, and political correctness in game design are all narrow and biased perspectives. |

" It's not fun. "Sigh"

" Very well said. The Unique shield they showcased a couple of days ago however, doesn’t give me the highest of hopes in their design direction for melee. A projectile, a traversal skill, and a massive AOE into 1 button for the heaviest melee class is kind of a joke. Like, you’re literally not playing melee at this point. At all. That’s a parody of the class. |

"poe2 tourists aka poe1 haters made a world in their head that this game would be a soulslike"
No, it was shown and explained in the Early Access launch video (much alike one they just did on 8th of May), where they directly explained how the flow is supposed to be and it did stand out much like to souls. Sorry, but it is not in any way imaginary or assumed. It was marketed and is documented. I've been seeing this false, bad faith or otherwise uninformed argument a thousand times already for the entire early access period. |

" Indeed we have seen this argument, your argument, for way too many times and we are tired of you and this ridiculous gaslighting as if we weren't all there and saw how PoE1 shills constantly pushed for this and constantly pressured them into answering the "can we still zoom zoom?", "can we still become gods?" "can we still do 1 button builds?". Can you stop with this already? It's really disgusting. At least say "we won" or some shit and stop pretending like they never intended to fix the combat.... which was specifically the reason they said they separated the games in the first place.
