Out of touch - congrats you've made POE 1.5
" I don't understand what you're talking about. Are you sure you've read my message correctly? First of all, who are "we"? Second, what "poe1 shills" even mean? Which part exactly from what I said is gaslighting? (as in, what am I trying to falsify, you think). I'm really confused by the part where you mentioned pressure to get the answers on questions if uhhhh... if poe2 will retain poe1 dynamic? And another confusing part is are you mad that I referred to the poe2 presentation of combat as slower and tactical in their pre-release videos? Also, "stop pretending like they never intended to fix the combat" seems to me like some logical fault in the sentence, can you please rephrase? I assure you, everything I write is genuine and I'm not trying to stab your brain. I'm really sorry I upset you. Last edited by InvRnd#4436 on May 13, 2026, 5:53:28 AM

Jonathan Rogers overplayed his cards.
POE1 only had tracktion because there was a severe lack of ARPGs, andD2 players were not happy with the art- direction of D3. These guys are now 35+ years old and don't have time for mindnumbing 10 hrs per day one button grind to get anywhere, and neither has the jounger generation that is not used to it. GGG currently at 200+ employers we are looking at a solid 40 Million burn per year. D3 atleast made the game more accessible to casuals and made lots of mums buy kids this cute looking game. POE2 is none of that. POE2 is an overly Art - espensive failure of a product that caters neither to POE1 players nor to new players. Last edited by dend3lol#4714 on May 13, 2026, 5:57:40 AM

" It's not -you- specifically, there are a lot like you that keep pretending like GGG never ever intended to fix melee, make combat good, that they always intended for PoE2 to devolve into the same projectile filled screen clear nonsense just like PoE1 is and so on. And that's just blatant gaslighting and it is extremely tiring to see it on repeat. At least own it, for fucks sake. Heck you can even ignore anything they've ever said and look at the damn actions... why the heck would they try to add parry to the game??? Why add active block, why have something like perfect strike with a timing window if the intention was always to get back to PoE1?!? It fucking wasn't... but now they gave up.... because if you look, again , at their actions.. it shows the picture clearly... all of the new stuff is 100% not made with the same design in mind. A bazillion tornadoes flying across the screen at cartoonish speeds...? Another god damn minion army with a companion tag instead of minion..? a martial artist that sits in place and clones do everything around him? LIKE COME ON. " Dude, you literally understood me completely backwards, I earlier even wrote "I remember the very first release stream and looking back on it, right now the entire concept has shifted away from it towards the traditional gameplay. I experience this a lot in my creative/professional work - I decide to break the flow, change the fundamentals to only then find myself sticking to the old ways because work needs to be done and I already have the formula. This is so, so very familiar." So I believed that it will indeed be at least somewhat of a different flow than just 1 button screen go boom, but now I really find that there's no need for complexity in action, only in planning numbers out, which isn't what I expected. What you're saying is that I insist what we have now is totally the intended way. No, no what I mean is the complete opposite of that. I even handicap my builds and playstyles to make it more layered, which makes me feel stupid because I know it's unnecessary. They try to do what they intended to due to blocks and parries and so on you mentioned, but I think it doesn't really work yet, especially with new additions that automate combat. It's a dissonance. " Oh, sorry, my apologies... I really am tired... I skipped the quotation marks and thought you were doing the actual tourist argument yourself. I've seen it so many times that I'm almost instinctually reacting to it... "Sigh" Last edited by IonSugeRau1#1069 on May 13, 2026, 6:13:24 AM

" That would be another proof in and of itself that there is for sure an issue of disconnect between mechanical design, desires of different players and the challenge of making a functioning system that merges two opposite gameplay approaches. The disarray is so thick you can walk on it. Last edited by InvRnd#4436 on May 13, 2026, 6:38:40 AM

" "espensive failure of a product" HAHAAAHAHAHA in the meantime PoE 2 having 4 times more playerbase than PoE 1 in every single league launch so far and it's a paid game currently, also playercount increasing every league, people playing way more. We are 5 months in, still had more players than 2 months old poe1 league even before 0.5 announcement. Nothing is failure of a product here, it's insanely successful and there is almost no other paid Live service game that can reach these numbers. The game does not appeal to you and that's not means the game is a failure, I highly suggest you to try to understand that otherwise you'll be stuck in a dream you have created. FAILURE PRODUCT HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA |
