Why is there no auction house in POE?
" Yeah, gonna call BS. At MOST, you get an automated 'ty'. I have never met a single person. At first I would say "cool hideout" or something, but after no responses in dozens of trades, there is no point. So either you're just flat lying or you live in an alternate dimension.
" Ah, it all makes sense now. So you have zero experience with what trading is like in PoE. Got it. All your arguments, random wild fears, utter lack of understanding about how trading works or what its like... make sense.
" Messaging 20 ppl is either a ly or you really don't know how to trade. And what do you mean a single consumable? 1 fuse or 1 regret at a time? yeah that is a huge waste of time for everyone involved so ofc you need to buy those in bulk. And when i trade i pay the correct price not the lowest price or the highest price i pay the correct price and i very rarely have to message more then 2 or 3 ppl. [Removed by Support]
Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” |

" Yes, so you have workarounds, but again not a single word of explanation of WHY that should be necessary. Instead of addressing WHY this is a problem, why we are alt tabbing to do this, you talk of how you deal with it. Great... but why is it necessary. For single items, what I really mean is like either chaotic resonators, or a single specific map you need of a specific tier in the atlas. While you can buy some maps in bulk, sometimes either to fill out the atlas, farm, or do other things, you need ONE map.
I don't really get the baseline of this topic. You want to run idling game (bot ware) behind PoE and share the outcome to have better result among the other ?
Is there any practical way to limit the frequency of trading activity in automated transaction on a "free to create account" game ? Maybe "my favorite seller" list would fix in a long term. We can share the list and it will be a recommended seller list (it's more practical to make a somewhat working good list and arrange it than making a complete good/bad list from the beginning.) The main purpose is this is to create a standard on trading. Once it's done, it's fine (in most case.) " Well, outside the fact that bots already control the market right now without an AH, there are actually plenty of ways where an AH actually reduces bots impacts, just out of my mind: 1- Limit the amount of trades per minute/hour/day/numbers and require a premium stash for automatic transactions (this way even if they create millions of accounts they will still have to at least pay GGG for the premium stash),also 3.; 2- Require some playing element for each trade (map bosses drops a untradable currency that is required to make the trades); 3- GGG uses the information that an ingame AH can easily provide to quickly identify and ban outliers(bots), this will limit the bot speed to a human speed, so they will do little to no harm whatsoever to the economy; And many more alternatives can indubitably be thought with a little of brain stimulation.
P2P model to expel bots ? I never seen that working like you imagine in any P2P online game with automated transaction system before.
And I'm no really bothered with bots on the current system since I'm not relying on the flying market basically. This is why I don't get the baseline. Not that I'm yet another cool gamer. You can send a practical design sheet to GGG if it's that easy for you. Edit: Bots dominating the market ? you mean currency market ? In my book, currency market is based on the value creation. Someone buy an item because it has value, not because it's cheap. If you see it's failing, it's failure of consumer to create the value in the market. Im seeing a trend that people who dont want improvements generally dont trade.
Kinda like if you never play a class, you dont care about improvements to it and dont want the game balanced around it. Self interest is fair, but its not a zero sum game. Improving part of the game that doesnt help you does not equal hurting you.
I do trade and I'm not hating the improvements "in general (yet I don't get the intent of using general to describe this matter)" at all but asking their purpose.
Edit: I'm just trying to be careful not to talk for others. Stop Bombing /Flu_prevention_mode ON Moment Joon 【Passport & Garcon】https://bit.ly/2wXiUSj MonoNeon 【Put On Earth For You】https://bit.ly/3I22mru Last edited by finisterre on Jan 8, 2020, 3:39:38 PM

" Trade was made intentionally annoying and frustrating by lead developers to fit their game vision. There are other ways to limit trade, in likely far less annoying ways. Its weird I have to say this but some people disagree - making the game just as functional, but less annoying, is a good thing. Specific problems solved by suggested improvements in this thread -Numerous messages to complete trades, particularly as league ages -AFK people not responding -"Scams" using the word loosely inherent in current trade windows -Limited items particularly late in the league -Alt tabbing from gameplay to search, breaking immersion -More time trading for a map than it takes to play it -Intentionally bad (or if you prefer, frustrating instead of bad) game design to fix other bad game design (I mean, if you know you need trade, why did you not design the game to handle trade in the first place. Now trade is annoying because you designed the whole thing poorly from the ground up? Stupid reasoning.) |
