Why is there no auction house in POE?

Yeea, because people only play this for the trading, not for the game itself, that's boring. Trading on the other hand is so fun.

I liked the game just as much, or even more, back when the only way to trade was to scour the forums for potential upgrades if you absolutely didn't want to wait until you found something better yourself. Nowadays, you can get so good gear in such a short amount of time, it's a little too easy. Putting an AH into the game is going to make it even easier. This is also the opinion of Chris afaik, which is why there is no AH currently.

I'd play the game even if there was an AH though, but would probably feel forced to play SSF, which is fine.

what i mean people in trade league get bored faster then. because items are then easier to come by. reason to keep playing? get stronger! one of the reasons i play mostly ssf unless i specific build want that is xd

of course trading isn't fun! that's how it now is?

I get your point, but you are missing something important: the process will be easier with an AH, but not the trading itself. I mean if there is an AH we will not have a bunch of the best items in the game for free or something, they will still be limited by the price. Moreover, it's possible that all the items will raise in price due the increased demand (because THE PROCESS would be easier).

Although i hate current trade experience - i can agree with a theory that AH would affect in game economy/player experience etc.

But - i just have no idea, why they don't even introduce currency house (with f.ex max ex as currency - even with limited stock) - it just make me sick when i need to buy currency today.

The one thing is - introducing AH, the other is to make current terrible experience a little less terrible. Can't figure out why nothing changes in that matter...

A currency exchange would make all currencies reduce to simply denominations of the same base currency. You could exchange them at will. Currently, 4 jewelers is thought of as being a fusing. That's fixed because it's easy to exchange them. All currency would be that way. You wouldn't think of any currency as being THAT. You would think of it as being so many of THOSE. That would remove what makes PoE's currency system so special.

Becuz this is grinding gear game not trading gear game hehe.

For a player like me, who work fulltime and have a baby at home an AH would be great since most of the wispers I get are when Im afk and I barely get a chance to sell anything.
I agree it will effect the economy but they can make some limitations like "listing x number of items per account" and such...

Because auction house means less stash tabs. And guess what, tencent's business is to milk players. All the rest are cheap excuses. At china servers there is auction house, playstation has auction house, xbox has auction house. Tencent could put an auction house for a league and see the results but the power of money is stronger than the fun of the players.
