Can we have slow methodical gameplay from act 1 back please?

i no longer want poe1 gameplay. if the required way to play poe2 is zoom zooming on release, i d probably quit poe entirely. the clearspeed of some builds in poe2 is disgusting. [Removed by Support]

Agreed, endgame feels like POE1 with 5+ years of powercreep delivered on early access release. You either quit because your build isn't one of the reddit kiddie 1-shot clear screen broken meta builds or reroll to that build.
It's not fun trying to play a non-meta build when content is balanced around those broken builds. Last edited by USMC_Maxim#6265 on Jan 22, 2025, 2:53:13 PM

And do be reminded, they make no hiding that they intend the endgame to be like this. Instead of changing the endgame, they would double down and does numbers tuning.

Yeah i wish we could go back to that, enemies and loot were more meaningful when there were less of them, but at the end game nothing really matters anymore, you're constantly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of trash monsters and trash itens on the ground, the gameplay is basically just stomping monsters left and right or getting stomped
Poe 2 was their opportunity to try new things and review their core philosophies for the game, but now i can't help but notice that poe 2 is just poe 1 with better graphics, poe 2 is actually very disappointing for me personally and honestly i wish i could get my money back.. |

Stop buying high end gear in trade to skip and zoom, and your problem is solved.
The game is balanced for SSF. Your problem is selfmade. |

" uhm, did you get to act 2 yet? there are things called rituals there. check them out |

Totally agree.
Campaign feels great. Endgame feels awful. Defenses mean nothing. Slow abilities are borderline useless because of everything being so fast. You're pigeonholed into playing 1-button zoom builds that kill everything as quickly as possible so you don't get one shot. The boss fights are fantastic, too bad you never get to see any of them because killing the boss in one hit is basically the only viable way to play because everything they do one shots you and you get punished so harshly for failing. What's the point of having all this customization if 95% of the options are unviable? Making up cool builds was the best part of PoE1 for me, that was the entire point of having so much room for customization. I feel like you're punished for it in PoE2 Last edited by SplashKing#6352 on Jan 22, 2025, 8:37:49 PM

Sorry, guys, but you're confusing apples with oranges. Act I and II feels the way it feels because you're fresh and nobody in terms of loot but that fixes itself later on. And it supposed to fix itself later on. And you're supposed to get stronger and oneshot everything - that's the whole point.
Diablo-like loot games were never about the skill but about how fast you can kill stuff. And you achieve that by upgrading your gear. You're not actually fighting the monsters, you're fighting RNG. The faster you can kill, the more loot per hour you get to choose your upgrades from. The whole point of such games are items and the point of items is to eventually make yourself being able to zoom-zoom-oneshot. If you think otherwise you're lying to yourselves and you're playing the wrong game. If you think this game supposed to be Elden Ring 3 you're lying to yourselves and you're playing the wrong game. Dodge roll is just another layer of defence to help you not to stand where it hurts. It's the closest thing you would ever get to "skill fighting" in a game that is not and hopefully will never be about "Elden Ring 3". What's the point in playing a loot game if you're fighting a boss for 3 minutes and he doesn't drop anything that makes the next fight easier or if the game is balanced in such a way that whatever he drops can only make your next fight with that boss last for 2:59? |

" That's simple. The point is enjoying fighting an engaging boss. And we know that GGG probably prefers brainrot 1 shot zoom zooming. We are trying to change the minds of the devs since PoE2 is just worse PoE1 with better graphics if the combat becomes irrelevant in endgame. Power creep CAN and HAS been far better balanced in many many other loot based games. Last edited by LVSviral#3689 on Jan 22, 2025, 9:40:50 PM
