One death per map is honestly fucking dumb as hell.

Yes, yes it should be.

When you meet a boss for the first time you should expect to die three or four times to learn what the mechanics are, then another half dozen learning to execute everything properly - dodge rolls, movement, timing, right skills, etc...

Now repeat that for the 200 bosses they have planned.

But GGG can't make challenging bosses because of the one death per map rule.

The punishments force the game to be easier than it could otherwise be.

Or if you have anything close to a decent balanced build with some defense you can actually survive big hits from boss and use something called the healing potion (bottom left) to heal back up and learn from that without dying.

Hope it helps !

It's just the game trying to tell you that dying is bad and that building a solid character is important.

That’s good insight. It also sucks and will kill this game’s appeal for 99.9% of players. If you care about death so much play HC. That option exists for masochists.

No, it won't kill the game.. it's gonna purge players like you to either learn to grow to love it or leave.
It's that simple.
GGG should just add another option : 1 portal ruthless
Then all these people that claim to love it so much can play it how they enjoy it.

Ruthless is fun when you have already done your 40 or what ever else you set out to do and need something to do until the next league. 1 portal mode could also be the same thing. Just don't force it onto the masses when only a few actually like it.

Please do this in ssf and then get back to me. You can't balance a game around only trade.

I don't trade. I prefer crafting my own stuff.
For me it's a deal breaker. Leagues will add total overpowered mechanics and 1 portal will feel worse from League to league
What exactly are you talking about. We don't have crafting. We have gambling 100% rng throw currency at garbage items on repeat and maybe get something. You never played poe. They removed everything that was good about crafting in this.
I wouldnt say they removed everything good about crafting.

I think some of it ... just isnt in the game yet (the only Early Access part of Early Access). Cant imagine not seeing any expansion on crafting.

Ie: Fossils, Harvest, Syndicate(veiled), Influence, Alva, etc....

I mean Alvas in the game, saw her in the campaign. Just no incursion.
Mash the clean
If any, I find it make people play too much on safe route. Have extra chance mean people can go more nut, juicy or have a chance to learn more difficult mechanic. IMO, it discourage people to try something new, something fun but go with more meta, more safe unless they are really confident.

I see it as meaningless punishment that feel so out of place. Same as monster respawn after dead. It don't make dead feel more punishment at all. It just feel like if you die in soul game, the game auto terminate itself and next time you restart will be 60 second cooldown before you can resume at campfire.

10% exp lose is already sever enough, you lose the most precious resource in your life - time, that you use to grind that xp. I don't get why people need more punishment than that. Hardcore exist for that reason if you want more.

There will be something like, don't die in the first place, be smart, git gud, look at telegraph and go on forever...

They can even have middle ground like if you dead, one extra portal is shutdown (you only have 3 chance at start, lessen each time you return to drop off goods if you like or take party member with you.)

Just my random though on this half bake EA.
Slow in, slow out cuz I'm just a player.
