The BIGGEST ISSUE with the POE2 community is THINKING IT SHOULD BE JUST LIKE POE1.

Yup, If I ever hit a point in PoE where I'm dying a ton and I lose a bunch of XP, I usually just quit. It's frustrating, and I don't play games to be frustrated. I play them to relax, and enjoy a few hours. As do well, most.

Even if you make a bonus for staying alive, there will be a lot of people that will complain that they don't have the bonus.

If you get to a point you are dying too much you can rethink your build strategy.

But to be fair PoE isn't a balanced game and I wouldn't mind them removing it while they truly balance enemies and builds before adding it back in.

Maybe. But at least they won't be frustrated losing 5 hours of gametime from a death.

Much better situation.

And then, the argument of skill actually comes into play. And since it's optional, it's not really a big issue. Players can choose to engage with it, or not. But it's not a forced punishment on the players like the current system is.

Why would they lose everyone who financially supported them over the years? PoE 1 still exists. They can just go play that if they're unhappy with PoE 2. Why do you assume they'll leave?

GGG has no obligation to make the game for the old players. They're completely free to experiment and see if they can bring in new players. If the old players don't like the direction of the new game. Well, the old game still exists. Nothing wrong with that. That's exactly why GGG separated them.

Why do you also assume the new game will be a graveyard? Are you psychic? Can you see the future? Maybe it'll get 10's of millions of players.

Because many people who have supported the game, will outright quit rather than play PoE1 because they feel neglected by GGG.

At this point I am just reporting your post as harassment / Trolling as you can not and will not see viewpoints other than your own and outright attack anyone who offers a differing opinion.

Not only you can't stop doom calling if the game doesn't go your way, but now you threaten people ?

Guess who is entitled. I'll help you : it's you.

Your argument doesn't make much sense if you think about it... It is as valid as a new player that just got to maps and can't progress.
And then wants the maps to be easier because he doesn't want to have patience to learn how to make a proper build.

I've heard better arguments like:

- Bad game balance(ofc)
- XP penalty makes us avoid risky interesting content

Second one is true. It is a side-effect but those can be fixed by giving a "1 death penalty prevention" when you enter special content/mechanics

I think GGG will be much more likely to listen to feedback like these instead of the "remove XP penalty" which people have been trying for years with 0 success

I mean it makes sense for people that loved POE1 to want POE2 to be an improvement . They already removed so much from POE1 that at the very least the core foundation should be as good and strong as it's predecessor.

Feel like most of the criticism are valid.

*Yes, the campaign takes too long and act 2 and act 3 are tedious to clear.
*Yes, Cruel difficulty kinda sucks, is just there to pad the lenght and make it tedious to make other characters and take them to endgame.
*Yes, respawning enemies after death and loot dissaapear sucks in campaign.
*Yes, loot drops in campaign suck and you barely get any currency to craft things or usable yellows, forcing you to use Trade Website to gear up.
*Yes, movement speed is too slow and it sucks not having a way to clear large distances quickly when backtracking (why are there no checkpoints to fast travel to in endgame maps like in single player).
*Yes , the crafting system sucks and it's almost always better to just buy stuff off trade market than brick items engaging with it.
*Yes, one death per waystone stucks and it kills coop or any chance to learn tougher bosses without burning tons of maps.
*Yes, atlas progression kinda sucks cause you have no idea where to find the towers you need to find and it takes 10 map clears to get atlas points versus getting some with every map clear like before...

I'm against all of that you said, are you crazy? Do you want to turn POE2 into POE1? Then what's the point of having POE2 if it's the same???????????????????

But you know nothing about PoE1, so why are you upset about it?

This game already is PoE 1 but much, much worse. Objectively worse, dumbed down systems across the board. Boring.Bland.A chore.A slog. That's what PoE 2 is, and the more people get to endgame the more they will realize that. Also ain't noooo way most people will want to wade through the garbage, slow, boring campaign every 3 months for a new league lol(its only good the first time, then it gets super boring), max 1 character. Trying out a new build will be even more painful than the campaign in PoE 1.

This game is just PoE 1 but with nice graphics but way worse in every way imaginable and also making the same mistakes that PoE 1 made over its history of development even though the first game should have learned all of these lessons already. PoE 2 needs some serious changes before its actually in a playable state. Because right now the game just isn't fun. And it also completely disrespects the player's time because of all the pointless, outdated, archaic on-death penalties in it.

That's not objectively worst because a lot of people like it.

Are you sure it's not only your opinion ?

Have you considered stopping bashing the game and doing something more productive for yourself instead ? You say players' time need to be valued and they need to be respected, do you think what you are doing here on the forums is helping anyone towards that, including yourself ? Seems to me it does the exact opposite.
