The BIGGEST ISSUE with the POE2 community is THINKING IT SHOULD BE JUST LIKE POE1.

Ah some fine bait.

I agree, but I think part of the problem is still GGG's fault. Calling the game "PoE2" sets up the expectation that it should be similar to "PoE." Maybe they could've called it something like "Trials of Exile" or "Survivors of Wraeclast," something that links the game with the world of PoE, but is distinct from it.

Thing is, POE2 turns into POE1 in the endgame.
Campaing is actually quite misleading. You think that all those skill synergies are important and cool and using 10 different skills for complex setups is awesome. But the further you go the more you realize that just spamming couple of good skills is more efficient and way easier, doing cool setups with multiple skills simply not worth it. I wonder if devs will do anything about it or it's intended to be like this. |

I don't want it to be like Path of Exile 1. I want it to be better.
So far it's keeping all the worst elements of the first game and tossing out all the good stuff. |

But the issue is, it already is like PoE 1. In end game. Various builds nuking screens with 1 skill.
Unless you are playing a slow slammer, which you really shouldn't. Since everything is designed to hardcore punish being slower. If you want to be weaker and vastly more inefficient than other builds, ranged, minion etc. And arch nem from PoE 1... Most mods in end game are hell for melee and slower chars. While being practically irrelevant for ranged. Makes me not want to engage with most types of content and keep asking myself, why am I playing melee. (Ultimatum is even way worse and way more anti melee than sekhemas) After everything they said, a lot of it didn't turn out true, for now. I gotta make a thread later and give specific examples about some of it. Though a lot should be obvious if you have played slower melee and are doing end game. (I am currently doing tier 10+) |

The game is literally PoE 1 but with worse systems.
The meta is literally PoE 1 builds. If you aren't playing that, you are intentionally playing the game with a disadvantage compared to other players, and if you're in trade league that means it will be super hard for you to farm currency to buy gear, meaning the game will be a complete slog. Don't blame the players making PoE 1 builds, the game was designed in a way that these builds are even possible lmao If GGG really wanted to make some kind of slow ARPG to a point where its so slow its as boring as the pace of D2 then they should have named this game something else and started a new IP, that way they could have made completely new systems instead of making this a literal downgraded PoE 1 but with fresh graphics. I doubt they will nerf every single build under the sun that has fast, efficient clear so the meta will always be leaning towards zoomy PoE 1-style builds because that's the strongest option, because its the fastest way to farm currency etc. This is just the nature of gamers, to optimize and follow the meta to a T. Personally I ain't touching this game, its in an unplayable state atm with how boring, slow and punishing it is. PoE 1 is better so I'm just waiting for 3.26 lol |

" No it's not; doom sayer. |

" "PoE 2 is just like PoE 1" That may be oversimplifying things... Ofc the game will be faster in the endgame but the 6-link changes alone already make different playstyles than 1-skill spam much more possible and bearable even if they can't oneshot everything instantly. The fact that there are more skill combos and different support gems that allow you to give them cooldowns in exchange for power/AoE also allows for different possibilities. I don't think bosses should be able to be killed instantly or that melee doesn't have problems but to say PoE 2 = PoE 1 is simply half-truth. Ofc it will be true for players that care about efficiency only and don't want to use 90% of the rest of the things the game has to offer Last edited by Gordyne#2944 on Dec 29, 2024, 1:37:11 PM
