The BIGGEST ISSUE with the POE2 community is THINKING IT SHOULD BE JUST LIKE POE1.
" Sounds like it's a bad thing the way you say it, but it's actually a good thing. If all you do is play one game. How can you be objective about it's quality? :) For me, I'd value the input of all the people that don't play the game as much, over the ones that no-life it. It will clearly show area's in which the game can improve. PoE has never had a large playerbase, and the ones that do play, are a very specific type of person. If PoE 2 is to have more widespread appeal, maybe we shouldn't be asking people that have 10,000 hours in PoE 1, how to make it good for your average player? Dontcha think? " If you like PoE2 in its current status... why are you here posting instead of having fun playing it? I mean, I feel dissatisfaction and frustration when I play it, that's why I'm here complaining. But... why you? why do you prefer to deal with obnoxious PoE1 veterans in this forum instead of enjoying PoE2 ride? Seriously, it's a honest question, I'm really curious Have a nice 2025 btw (: |

" Your right to think that way, but it´s not general truth. Also, people not knowing POE 1 are having a big blast with PoE 2, coming from other ARPGS and never knew how engaging POE can be. POE 1 players seem to be divided in some fractions while the tenor is pretty positive. If you think away POE 1 as if it wouldn´t exist, then POE 2 would be an instant ARPG Gold and we are just in EA. The Base of POE 2 is insanely good - watch what POE 1 was in EA. So, talking about "shit" just sounds like big words from a small mouth, because it just reads undescribed & toxic af "Black & White" thinking. There are some things that needs to be adressed in my view, but i´m chill and wait for "the vision" to be completed and then decide what i like and what not. It´s just early access. Things will vary - some minor and some for big. And i really like this base alot as an POE 1 Vet. |

" Simple to explain, my dear "Newbie": those who are playing don't waste time complaining. (Or so I thought.) The problem is that when a player who doesn’t waste TIME COMPLAINING sees a bunch of "idiots" talking about how this or that needs to be adjusted, as if it were a problem, it starts affecting OUR GAME. We don’t want a bunch of "pseudo" experienced players or idiot streamers whining because they can’t press the spacebar to roll their character and end up dying to a boss mechanic that takes 4 seconds to charge its attack. |

" Most of us who defend the new game on the forums do so when we can't be playing. For example, I generally only post between calls in the office, when I am, y'know...in the office and cannot play. When I'm home? I'm playing Path 2, or occasionally something else. There's also the idea that what makes the second game fresh, interesting and awesome to those of us who are enjoying it will disappear if the grumpy grognard POE1 Supervets with 10k+ hours succeed in turning the game into Just PoE1 in the New Game's Skin, so oftentimes sheer worry drives us to post. It honestly sucks. There's actually lots of stuff I'd like to give some honest feedback on, things that aren't working for me about the game, but if I do? All the angry bitter PoE1 Supervets will say "SEE?! THE NEW GAME SUCKS GIANT DONKEY SACK! GUT LITERALLY EVERYTHING ABOUT IT AND TURN IT INTO AN EXACT PERFECT ONE-FOR-ONE CLONE OF THE GAME I LOVE THAT ALREADY EXISTS!!" and the entire point of me trying to offer feedback of the "I'm really enjoying myself, but I could be enjoying myself more if..." sort would be defeated. Those of us who don't hate the new game and want it to just be an exact dupliclone of the original, Borderlands-style, are trapped. We hate it, and it's the driving force behind us posting in many a case. Like, for a lot of us? All the snarling and anger and bitter nastiness and venomous hatred is how we feel about Path of Exile 1. To you guys it's a fantastic, perfect game that precisely encapsulates How An ARPG Should Be. For most of us? POE1 is a broken promise that super fucking sucks to play, we only really do it to try and pursue that broken dream of the game of yore that no longer exists, and PoE2 is the game that we're dearly hoping can make that promise good once more. " It's not fair to expect people that dislike PoE1 due to second-hand knowledge to know things like this. | |
Best thing is that poe one is still there for the masses .

" Why should the game be punishing at all? It's just a fucking game. What sense does it make to have it be punishing? At least in POE1, the punishment is minimal. In POE2, it's just frustrating as all fuck, due to how the game is designed. One-shots that aren't boss mechanics, XP loss, on-death effects, all of it should NOT be in the game. Plain and simple. |

" This is not your game. Neither mine, It's GGG's game and they do with it whatever they want :P If you enjoy the game, just play it because they are analyzing metrics from all us (how much we play, what content we do the most, what content we avoid...). This is the real feedback. This forum is just used for detailing these metrics, I mean: if stats are as expected, they won't care about what we write down here. That's why I left Poe" and I've returned to Poe1 after posting my feedback, and why I firmly think everyone raging here should do the same. As I said in previous post, and as other people has pointed, this EA shows several signs of flaw design. I mean, in my opinion there are big issues that should be addresed that are not linked to bugs or an early development. For instance: - Choosing Sanctum as Ascension Trials is bad design because a lot of people disliked it even in PoE1. Ultimatum, instead, might work but needs minor fixes at least (I'm looking at you, tornado bird) - The removal of the alteration orb (which let us reroll mods in blue items) is a bad design because breaks not only one of the core aspects in PoE1, but also one of its main strengths in the ARPG genre. The clunky hammer bench used for salvaging rune hole shards, instead, seems a patch for a yet undeveloped mechanic - The "increase rarity" mod is a bad design. But the lack of drop some of us suffer, or the current broken economy, are just balance-related issues So, I'm glad if you enjoy magic find mods, relying on random crafting or sanctum runs. If I didn't have uninstalled PoE2 I'd give you all my shekema tokens because I rather being shot in my knees before wasting just one second more and my mental health there. And do not care about this forum because if there are more happy players than angry people, nothing won't change. About me, I've spent 56€ in this EA, but I got 600 tokens that will help me managing my loot in PoE1. So I don't regret any cent invested in GGG, though I feel sad because direction has taken PoE2. |
