Hard crashing PC locks up

"
Issues too, crash to desktop on average every 15 minutes. Sometimes with an error message and sometimes without. Here are two examples of messages I've gotten, but there were more.

Exception: Queue signal failed
Exception: vk::Device::acquireNextImageKHR: ErrorDeviceLost

I have tried every suggestion about throttling the CPU and whatnot, without any improvement.

I find that it lasts longer before it crashes if I run it in fullscreen at 1080p (the game otherwise runs smooth at 4K windowed fullscreen). If I just restart the game after the crash, it will work maybe 10 minutes and then crash again. If I restart the game once more, the crash will come sooner and sooner and eventually crash in main menu or when starting the game.

If I then restart my computer, then it can go for maybe an hour before the crashing starts.

Ryzen 5 7600
AMD 6700 XT
Windows 11 23H2

This guy is a full AMD enjoyer (CPU + GPU) and has the issue. It's not exclusive to Nvidia GPUs with AMD processor or just people running Nvidia in general.

EDIT - I guess this guy never claimed hard freezing. Oops.

As much as I want this problem completely solved. I want to know WHY.

I keep thinking about why I don’t see any big streamer or content creator really, having this problem.
I’m glad they don’t because this is really bad.

I hope this problem goes away, on a unimportant note I want to try start making content on poe2 and I’ve so far crashed and force restarted my pc like 20 times up till now

PirateSoftware is a huge content creator and had this issue. His fix? He just turned off multithreading permanently in the POE2 Settings. However, guessing he has a NASA PC because it didn't effect his frames like it does me.

I have tried disabling multithreading in POE2, and the game still closes every so often.
I haven't been able to play since Sunday morning due to some update they posted. From Friday to Sunday I played without problems......

I am curious how many people in this thread are playing a bloodmage.

I started it and I didn't remember much crashing in act2 but a ton the 2nd day I got to play in act 2.

I have gone through everything in this thread and decided to just swap classes based on someone talking crashes and bloodmage. I haven't had a crash all the way through act 1 now playing sorc.

I have enabled win 7 compatibility. I have changed my afinity for poe to -2. I have also disabled integrated graphics in my bios. I had done all of that except the integrated graphics and was still crashing last night.

May go back to bloodmage and see if it was the integrated graphics which caused it....but I am enjoying not potentially bricking my pc for the moment.

4070ti super
Win 24h2
Everything up to date.
I know this is EA, but man this is a serious and seemingly wide spread issue - kinda wild that it wasn't picked up in testing.

Still experiencing this issue relatively often (7800X3D, RTX 4070 Ti Super, Windows 24H2.)

Just wanted to write that setting the affinity to -2 cores has been consistently allowing me to avoid my whole PC locking up. When the freezes occur I just end the process and reboot the game. Inconvenient but it is what it is. Just remember you have to do this every time you boot the game!
I also have this issue. The only prevention of an entire system lockup is to remove 1 - 2 CPU cores from the set affinity of the task manager. This why I can kill the task and not hard power cycle the PC.

While this can happen at any loading screen, it has typically occurred at character login or at the main town.

8700k
RTX 4070 Ti
Windows 11 24H2

Also, I primarily play on wi-fi. I am not sure if hardwired would be help.

EDIT:
I would like to add that Intel WiFi6 AX drivers and/or hardware could be at play with this.
I am currently testing a wired connection and noticed a difference in load time pauses and crashes. I found these errors in my Windows event viewer.

I understand that this could be a fault with my hardware specifically. I am attempting to provide as much info as possible so that this may be resolved for all in the future.

Adding onto this, getting the crashes and also running an AMD CPU with NVIDIA GPU. It's killing me, I love the game but I really don't want to risk my hardware for this. Really hoping for a fix.
"
I believe that is because Content creators have usually non x3d CPUs as those are bad for video rendering, and majority of users here with issues do have x3d CPUs and only few which has different CPUs. Who knows ..

yea that makes sense.

although, the new X3D chips coming out (specifically the 9950X3D) is going to have more cores and be really good for both gaming and multitasking, like streaming

so i hope they nail this and get this problem done and forgotten with, for the future

This latest patch is totally broken. I can't load any zones at all now without crashing lol. I disabled 1 core via affinity to not lock up my pc and now i can't even play at all.
