Hard crashing my PC so often, I fear this will brock my machine. I just can't play this anymore until something's done about it.
Full details: Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro, Version 10.0.26100, 24h2 GPU processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 DirectX runtime version: DirectX 12 Driver: Game Ready Driver - 566.36 - Thu Dec 5, 2024 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor RAM: 32.0 GB Last edited by Waxxy#4662 on Dec 9, 2024, 5:37:04 PM

" I have this issue and I am with ryzen 7 7700 non-X. Also there are alot of people with intel processors with the issue as well so I don't think it is a x3D cache issue. Although my PC blue screens with an error "driver power state failure" after a minute or so after the freeze. (froze twice) I don't think it is a overheating problem. My cpu temps were at 64-69C and peaked once at 70 for less than a second. I don't know but this might be something to consider as well. Last edited by Noyproks#3595 on Dec 9, 2024, 5:49:01 PM

Been crashing left and right, hard restart like 30 times before setting up steam to launch POE2 with affinity disabling last 4 threads to stop the pc from hanging. After was changing multi thread engine in settings to off before every transition and back after, this works but tedious. Read somewhere in this thread I think to change some settings in nvidia control panel, and so far so good but don't know what exactly did the trick so I'll list it all.
5800x 4080 64GB ddr4 win 11 24h2 steam client this next part is to have it run on the first 6cores/12threads on any processor to stop potential system freezes, don't know if it's best for intel with E-cores as I'm not familiar with it's core order, should be fine to try(only potential problem is lower perf if E-cores are first or mixed order) open a text doc and paste this %comspec% /C start /normal /affinity FFF PathOfExileSteam.exe if you have a 6core cpu change the FFF part to 3FF for 5cores/10threads or FF for 4/8 cores/threads, should be fine with the 3FF(5/10) save and rename the extension from .txt to .bat and move i to POE2 folde(to see file extensions type "explorer options" w/o quotes in win search and open it, switch to view tab and uncheck hide extensions for known file types, apply then ok) right click poe2 in steam and go to properties, in GENERAL disable steam overlay and paste this in launch options. "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\Affinity.bat" %command% change the path if you have a diff setup for your insall, this is default install in root of C drive drive(you may need to add "Program Files (x86)" or "Program Files" if you installed steam with default location eg:"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\Affinity.bat" also change Affinity.bat part to whatever you named your bat file to) then close poe2 properties, steam will launch the game with affinity set now so you don't need to run any apps or task manger to stop pc freezing. edit:nvm, just crashed twice back to back after 3 hours lol, leaving affinity info as it's still more convenient than an app. Last edited by La_Parca#4535 on Dec 9, 2024, 8:19:59 PM

Not sure if helpful, but after running flawlessly on Saturday, game started freezing PC, sometimes completely, sometimes with bsod stop code: memory_management (memory and disk checks detected no errors, nor did sfc or dism, other games run without issues).
Specs: Win 11 Pro 10.0.22631 i5 12 600kf Rtx 4070 Super (566.36) 32 gb ddr 5 5600mhz ram Cheers and take care. |

I am experiencing the same issue as well, 76003XD, all windows updates, NVIDIA 3090 with newest drivers. Crashes have happening mainly while changing zones after the gears appear, I have also had a crash when starting the game on the first set of gears.
My FPS goes from 200+ to 30ish on average when I disable Multithreading. |

I had this same crash happened three times already. The latest crash happened about 12 hours ago.
At this point, I'm going to stop playing until GGG deploys a confirmed fix. Will we get any assurances from GGG that these hard crashes are not permanently damaging our PC components? PC Specs: Ryzen 7700X RTX 4070 super (up to date driver) Windows 11 24h2 |
