Tempest Shield

Does the added lightning damage from thunderfist (1-100) adds up to tempest shield or does it only affect attacks?

Same as with all flat Elemental damage on gear, attacks only.
No complaints from me about TS. It rocks!
Okay, so I'm using Tempest Shield, and I have both Influence and Charisma in the passive tree. +34% Aura effect. Tempest Shield gives 4% added chance to block on it's own. 4 * 1.34 = 5.36. And yet, I'm still only getting 4% added chance to block from it.

Why?

It is because Tempest Shield is a self buff, and not an aura.
It's a little annoying that TS shuts itself down once I remove a gem from my shield or weaponswap to another shield...

And yeah, there's no lategame viability. The 4% Block it provides can be grabbed vie 2 passive points all over the tree...

Is it intended that Tempest shield shuts down as soon as you zone out? Not like other auras that you dont have to recast everytime you zone.
I have been getting the issue lately that TS does NOT shut off after entering and leaving a zone. It shuts off every map / piety run / end game stuff etc. I notice that not all zone transitions cause TS to shut off. Its hard to say what exact zones cause this because by the time I notice I am clearly on my way again. I am a lvl 85 1h LS duelist. Been using TS since I could use it. I started noticing this issue when I was helping my friend out in cruel while I was in merc. This is not game breaking but if the spell is supposed to shut off with every zone transition then it is not behaving how it should be with every zone transition.

Omg laughed so hard reading people complaining 4% block is nothing.

This skill is for shocking, not block increase!

Worst case scenario (24% block before TS) 4% block is 5% reduced damage taken.

Best case scenario (71% block before TS) 4% block is 14% reduced damage taken.

Anvil Scenario (74% block before TS) 4% block is 15% reduced damage taken.

4% block is not "nothing" or "weak". It's also reduced by mana reservation reduction, so in a buikdmalready running its main skill on blood magic you need only 15% of you mana available to run TShield assuming minimal reserve reduction investiture (20%). Or you can throw it in a proism guardian and reserve 10% of your life for 15% more life. Your call.
