What does that even mean? What is a crafted modifier on 0.4? Is it something new? Do they come from essences?

almost guaranteed this is just a bad patch note and maybe is linked to rogue exile drops or something. theres no chance they nuked the entire crafting system with 1 random line

By that logic, Hardcore players are just normal players with weak wills who can't resist logging back in after dying. The mechanical restriction is the mode. It changes how loot drops feel meaningful, how crafting decisions carry weight, how progression is paced. "Just don't trade" in normal mode is not the same experience, and GGG clearly agrees, otherwise they wouldn't have built and maintained the mode in the first place.


No, those who play death mode are in a different category of players for me. I've played a similar mode myself since I was with Diablo, and I understand and understand the difference in perception of the game in such modes. These are really different types of people, with different goals and approaches... In general, it is respected.

As for SSF - GGG, they didn't want to introduce this mode, I've read various mentions about it more than once. The players FORCED the creation of this mode, and since then, the players of this mode have been an inexhaustible source of whining after changing the dropout or crafting. That's a fact.
I don't think the first ones who demanded the creation of this mode would have whined and complained about the changes, but now those who play are playing...

If players demanding SSF is what created the mode, then players demanding it be kept viable is exactly the same thing happening again. You've just made the argument for why this feedback matters.

Great, if the players get satisfaction from getting the item, tell us why there is so much whining in this thread about the crafting change and that it will have a big impact on SSF players.
The players of this mode are very satisfied with getting items, which means that after this change there will be more satisfaction, finally getting the right item - why are they unhappy?
All crafted modifiers are now guaranteed, but items can only have 1 crafted modifier at a time. Desecrated modifiers no longer count as crafted modifiers, but items are limited to 1 Desecrated modifier.

Over all you could get 4 deterministic essence mods on a item that would carry you in the endgame which is kinda unabalanced. I understand why ppl want it in the game and I do understand why GGG dont.

Greater essence to make the item rare (with two easy to get alredy good mods)
Perfect essence prefix to gain phys/ele dmg
Perfect essence of battle to give +skill
Perfect essence of haste to give yourself an onslaught

with some exalt slam in between.

It seems that crafting changes have nothing to do with such a judgment, don't you think? Your SSF is not being touched, lol

whinning comes from loud minority - think ppl call those manchildren...

We are in EA till 1.0 which hopefully comes before xmass as it was announced. Hope they meet the date (which they didnt specify exactly - they said after con)

Mark said balance comes in the 0.5.x with new fresh restart and it looks like there wont be only one

Crafting will be part of it

Ppl should accept they play unfinished game and I am happy GGG does makes steps to see what goes and what doesnt.

Nobody said it's being removed. The argument is that a change to crafting disproportionately impacts SSF players who can't offset it through trading. A mode can exist and still be made worse. Those are not the same thing. And you keep moving the goalposts to accommodate the idea that the game should only be balanced around trade.
