You can still get pretty strong weapon with 4 out of 6 mods being deterministic. Crafting was always too strong and we dont know yet whats to come.

Mark was clear they will be balancing stuff from now on to have old uniques polished, skills balanced to a degree and I suspect crafting as well.

They have to try things out before 1.0 so that all is set for the long term success.

So all this crying that they took something from your that was not yours to begin with is kinda funny.


your statement would only make sense if they removed omens and or made them 100xs more common.

people are not concerned with balance. many want the game harder actually. what we dont want is the economy controlled by .1% of the players who bought all the omens on day 1.

this is a nerf to majority of players and a buff to the minority. thats the worst way to balance a game.

Maybe before commenting about determinative mods you should understand what one is.

You get 1 determinant mod

Augs and transmutes are RNG.

Essence to make a rare is craftable and deterministic.

Desecration is not determinsntic.

Omens are not determinsntic.

Being able to block mods and deterministically get a modifier isn't actually deterministic crafting, it's a technique to force a deterministic outcome.
guys relax i think greater essences are not going to be crafted modifiers. They only say crafted modifiers are guaranteed modifiers. And you only can have 1 crafted modifier.

All crafted modifiers are now guaranteed, but items can only have 1 crafted modifier at a time. Desecrated modifiers no longer count as crafted modifiers, but items are limited to 1 Desecrated modifier.


This is a terrible change. You did not add crafting power this patch, except to jewelry, which we already had the easiest time crafting. This massively hurts attack builds more so than anything else. We are already nerfed by the less perfect orbs dropping. Omens do not drop frequently enough for them to be a viable crafting option for 99% of players, and those are massively RNG based.

GGG has stated that endgame progression for most players takes a very long time. What's the purpose of making this even longer?

Rituals will now only give omens and unique items so yea we will probably get more omens in general.

In the interview it leaked that the above may be changed with the atlas ascendancy turning the ritual rewards to currency. We will see what comes

To add/clarify on what you are saying, I expect that crafted mods mean mods that can ONLY be obtained through crafting. The non-perfect essence mods are all base mods that can be found on ground loot. Only perfect essences grant mods that aren't in the base mod pool.
XDD Nice work, guys. You had more than two weeks to post the full patch notes, and it still wasn’t enough. Now you’re posting almost key updates less then a week before league start. And Surely, patch notes will keep being updated right up until the league starts.

while I agree with you the wording I used was not ideal, I dont agree with the overall result to change.

What I want to say is we can see loads of magic items of which I have always got two mods I could continue crafting on. With essence you get one deterministic mod and with desecration which you can always annul get 4th decent mod.

Is this weapon let say gonna be mirror tear? probably not

Is this weapon good enough to finish all there is to be killed? probably yes

We are also getting huge ammount of new things that will increase our power tremendously so imho its best to see first and then cry about it then cry about something and end up with what happend to temple....

I wish ppl trust GGG a little bit more...
Crafting change is concerning. One crafted prefix and suffix per item please!
Finally some difficulty in the game and the market does not die from flooded perfect items within the first week at league start. You all don't need to cry, with your painting by numbers deterministic item crafting, which you couldn't even call crafting.
The only thing missing is that all the greater and perfect currencies disappear and the game finally becomes challenging. We want more rng
