Skip Acts function for the second and subsequent characters in the league
|
It would literally never happen and if I am wrong one day I will eat both the socks off my feet. This is skipping a major part of the game. People just want to say "Let us skip the acts" and complain about how much of a slog it is but you don't propose how this could even work or be possible in POE.
IF you were to be able to skip, what happens to those side ventures you can take to get some solid buffs/stats? Where do they go for that player? That is just one issue with skipping, I won't go into more, but these are things that need to be considered, it isn't just "Okay go ahead and skip now since you already ran through once" |

The D4 campaign is terrible with the amount of story and cutscenes. It feels like its designed to be played once and then skipped on any future characters.
The POE2 campaign feels much closer to mapping because there arent that many story related interruptions to gameplay, which enables its high replayability each league. |

+1
I like the campaign, I think it should be mandatory atleast once, but when its this long and time consuming, It deters me away from making more classes I want to try new classes, I do not want to waste 4-5 hours just to then experiment with new classes and builds in endgame(4-5 hours is rushing through the campaign only doing the bare minimum to get to endgame aka 24 weapon set points and skipping every other side quest, most normal people and exploring everything is a good 2-3 day experience) "Oh if you want to skip the campaign why are you even playing the game its not that big of a deal" Its like going to work, Do I want to go to work? most of the time no I want to stay home and play POE!!!! But how can I afford these cool MTX if I don't have money :(( So thats why I go to work! Is it ideal? No, I would love infinite money to buy all the MTX I please but I need to work for that money Campaign is like going to work to make some $$$, Endgame is like getting home after a long day and enjoying the reward for going to work and maybe buying a new supporter pack with hard earned money Except this is a videogame, I play a videogame to have relax, have some fun and grind for loot, campaign is all predetermined and is extremely fun the first time around it gets you accustomed pretty well, but then you reach endgame and thats truly where the fun begins and full potential is unlocked, not the campaign, the campaign first time around is a really good experience, but its like going to work after having to do it so many times I don't want to have to go to work every time I want to experience a new class, I'm fine with doing it once a season, I enjoy that, but the more I do it, the more trivial it becomes and the less I enjoy it, and deters me away from making a new class, Either condense the acts the 2nd time around, or add some way to skip certain parts of the campaign to fast track your progress Add in maybe special dungeons or areas you need to clear to skip that part of the campaign, and make those areas require items you find in endgame to be able to access, this would make the campaign mandatory each season which I think it should be, would also require you to farm endgame a bit to find these items that would be the "keys" to areas throughout the campaign to skip that content |

" Of course! "Go play another game" "This game is not for you" You have nothing to say on topic but you still need to say something. " People like that have been proven wrong time and time again, People that give actual feedback end up with a game closer to what they want. I'm all for it. |

" Again this has been addressed. They are given at level appropriate intervals during the alternate leveling process. So the time and power will be basically the same as redoing the campaign for the 20th time. If skipping the campaign is skipping a major part of the game then what is doing it 19 previous times and it was the exact same? Why is doing it the 20th time or more somehow better and more fun? The answer is, it is not. There is zero reason to not implement it other than "I said so" Again for clarity since the campaign purists always ignore the previously stated stuff. No one (serious at least) is asking for free lvl 60 characters. We are simply asking for level scaling maps or some sort of "cow level" to level up by just killing monsters and not having to talk to 1000 NPC's, click 30 water levers, move a caravan to get off to talk to get back on to blow a horn to get back off to talk to someone else to get back on again. Once you have done these things numerous times, there is NOTHING of value or interest in doing it again. IF for some reason someone did want to do it, you can just do it. No one is trying to take it away. Most people are agreeing alternate leveling paths only open after you complete the campaign for the first time each league. There is NOTHING negative about it besides "meh, I dont like that" where I say to you, then run the campaign again. |

That's the thing - most arguments against this suggestion are not really arguments. They usually boil down to "don't like it, don't play it", "go play another game", or just "no".
The easiest solution would probably be some kind of strong XP boost for alt characters after the first campaign clear in a league. But even that is a bit lame, because you still have to run through the same campaign again. Faster repetition is still repetition. Right now the campaign feels less like meaningful gameplay on later characters and more like a mandatory gate being defended in the name of "experience" and "lore". That works the first time. Maybe even the second time. But after enough runs, there is nothing enjoyable about hearing the same lines, doing the same errands, clicking the same things, and walking through the same zones again. I could maybe change my mind if the campaign had real replay value. For example, branching dialogue, choices that affect later conversations, different routes, or some kind of procedural variation. But it does not. It is the same thing again and again. In the current era, it is honestly a bit sad that even dialogue and campaign flow cannot be made more personalized or dynamic. But that is probably another topic. I still support a campaign skip or a proper alternative leveling route after completing the campaign once in a league. I do not want free power, free loot, or instant level 100. I just do not want to waste my time repeating the same mandatory checklist in the name of "experience" or "lore". |

I agree with the core idea. after completing the campaign once in league, i dont want to run it again on every alt character. But i strongly disagree with giving any kind of xp boost, level boost, or free progression.
problem is not difficulty or progression speed. its repetition. giving xp boosts or faster levelng doesnt solvee anything. its just turns the same repetitve content into slightly shorter repetitive content. you are still doing the same quests, listening the same dialogue, and running through the same zones. thats not meaningful gameplay, thats just compression of boredom. at the same time nothing should be free. no instant levels, no bonus power, no free gear, no shortcuts that break progression. core of arpg loop is about building your character through effort and that should stay intact. a proper solution would be something like this, allow players to skip the campaign after completing it once in league, provide an alternative leveling route like maps or scaling zones or something similar, keep progression speed comparable to campaign not faster not slower this way you respect the players time, you remove forced reptition and you preserve progression integrity. right now the campaign is not a meaningful experince on alts its just a checklist. and forcing players through the same checklist over and over doesnt add value it just creates friction. so yeah i support a campaign skip but absolutely no free power no faster leveling no artificial boost. just a different path to reach the same result. |

Absolutely not. Horrible idea. The market would be in shambles every league

declined.
story is a big part of the game. 100% declined. First you want a story skip button, then you’ll want a T1–T14 skip button, and soon you’ll only want to have to kill the final bosses. Last edited by Darosius#3984 on Apr 30, 2026, 8:16:46 AM
