I noticed that as well with several of the replies.
Not sure about a complete skip button, but the main point rings true. The campaign could certainly use some trimming. Act 2 and 3 for example definitely overstay their welcome. There are huge areas that literally contribute nothing to the story and do more harm to the pacing. Or for example, side bosses like the Yeti in the third interlude map, there is no reason to have a huge, separate map dedicated to them. Yet a lot of such side content is basically mandatory due to permanent stat buffs.

And yeah, long-ass campaign, getting the 8 ascendancy points being such a pain in the butt, expensive respec etc. The current design sure hates experimentation.

Yes they do. Not in the literal sense but essentially that’s exactly what happens.

When you design for a skip-campaign game, the campaign automatically becomes a redundancy. This is NOT the way POE2 was designed, period. GGG spent a ginormous amount of time, effort and money to make the campaign what it is today.

But it will mean poe2 is going shitty diablo route under influence of "feedback" from people who know nothing about genre. Just as diablo franchise did and we all know how it ended.

Don’t waste your time. It’s never happening anyway.

Imagine POE2 as a skip-campaign game, lol. It would insta alienate its target audience.
