I would be significantly less inclined to play the game if it was removed.
Games for those who want slow boring gameplay already exist.
No rest for the wicked is very highly praised, only issue is their player count not being able to beat the average POE private league.
If GGG wants to go that route then fine but it's going to mean layoffs for a large portion of the company and a far less profitable business.
And games were you mindlessly walk forward with explosions all around you don't exist? What kind of a non argument is that, lol

IMO the problem is compounded with the fact that like 90% of builds will go crit damage in the end anyways because it's basically the best/only way for most builds to scale out damage. Since you're critting at like 75% of the time anyways then it makes sense to lean into CoC since you already put in all the hard work to trigger the proc.

Sir, these are the path of exile forums.
You are in a steakhouse crying because the menu doesn't have enough vegan options.

Sir, this’s the poe2 section of the forums.
Poe1 is that way.

So I assume you didn't play 0.1.

So I assume you never played an early access game full of bugs and broken stuff before?

Jonathan emphasized PoE2 is built around tactical, meaningful combat, yet Cast on Critical is antithetical to that premise. In its current state, CoC’s total domination devolves gameplay into screen-vomit, incentives zoom meta and stifles build diversity.
To preserve the integrity of the "vision," CoC needs to be removed entirely from the game and GGG should not waste development time on a rework that will likely remain problematic going forward.
+1

Agreed 100%, i would even go as far as to remove crit and crit damage from the game. Noone needs crit, we need damage and it doesnt need to come from squared formula. It should come from priming, debuffing, charging up swings, holding back, releasing, combining elements, consuming charges.
It was a surprise to me to see skills like comet and cast on crit in poe2. Everything i was introduced to in poe2 didnt point to these skill existing at all.

Crit is going nowhere bro. It would require too much effort to completely rework all things currently tied to it. Nerf is your best hope.

I don't want to remove crit entirely. Heck, its a staple in D&D and other ARPGs, and its a staple here. The best thing GGG could do is significantly reduce crit %, like 10-15% max.
In D&D, rolling nat 20 is 5% crit chance.
