Yes, Hexblast is giga dead.

Another build will take its place.

And that's the dumb part. Why not buff something else, leave hexblast alone, and have more choices for good builds?

Plenty of people asked dumb questions like "why even nerf skills, just buff those that are not used".

REASON - the hexblast mtx sales is over :)

This, how else they gonna sell us skill mtxs if we're just playing the same meta skills league after league.
I think if the point was to just destroy the mine build, they should have made the CD 0.5 sec or something like that

A 2 sec CD straight up deletes the skill from the game, even self cast cant work with such a long CD

You forget we can lower CD of skills by quite a lot.

Can we tho?

If you pick a shaper belt, eater or crusader boot, manually cast temporal to proc balance of terror, play as ascendant saboteur and stack some jewels, that will still barely give something like 100%, reducing the CD to 1 sec, which i think is still too long for a main skill, it CAN work, but gonna be hella clunky, esp if the yellow is not dead after you spend all the charges

Because that would be just plain dumb. Not nerfing anything because "people will be sad" is recipe for a disaster, sooner than later.

So far nobody said that they shouldn't nerf HB, only that they shouldn't destroy it. Is it really that hard to understand?

I have been goofing around havoc in standard and i would say the build is not quite dead

People have been saying they should just done down damage, but thats what they did isnt it? From the patch notes so far, the build should still work if you swap to havoc variation

I have been goofing with a leftover standard character to feel it and dont seem THAT bad. Its actually not very different on general mapping, but on bossing you can really feel the lack of the gimmicks, damage output seems a bit more than halved for me

It will definitely phase out of the meta, but should be playable for those that actually like the build, the lack of double damage and shock kills the bossing power, but dont feel much different on general mapping

Havoc does not give ailments, not scaling with hexes, and does not play around resistances. It's just a pure chaos damage hit and nothing else.

So using havoc you just lose every uniuqe part of the build and about half the damage.

You are right it's just the same...

And thats exactly why they let you use it with mines by not adding CD to it.
This is "just the damage nerf" people want. Want to play Hexblast Mines that just have lower DMG? Use Havoc.

With Havoc’s version, you don’t double curse because there’s only one useful curse for chaos, and hexing doesn’t increase your damage! So leaving out hexes from the build is entirely fine (Hexless Hexblast).

You also can’t freeze or chill enemies, which means it requires a completely different playstyle and defenses.

Sooo… this change affects the playstyle, the general build process, the damage scaling, the identity of the build, and the overall damage.
The only thing that hasn’t changed is the name of the skill.

But again, as you said, it's 'just the damage nerf' people want.

No we already talked about this.

What we want is HB as is, but with ~ 50-70% less damage.
Havoc is not just 70% less, it's way more.

And main reason HB is fun to play with is due the aliments. Freeze shock mainly.
And the scaling with curses so you'll get some damage.
Havoc doesn't get those.

And like i said before, it's a squichy build. Relying on freeze is half the defence. But i wanted more so i went trickster, which helps somewhat.
The super op builds you've seen around are usualy occultists mainly for sanctums. Pure damage glasscannons.

But ye if havoc could freeze, or inflict aliments it would maybe save it for us who wants to play. But half the fun with HB is the trick you've to do, you need a CoH ring combined with a curse from skitterbots.

Like i said previously. Until you invest into the build it doesn't realy do that much damage and isn't as op as people think.
It can and will scale into op levels yes. Hence why i would be fine with 50-70% nerf on it so i can still enjoy the playstyle (I loved it for mapping mainly, bossing being a +)
