Content Update 0.2.0 -- Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt
i actually can understand nerfs, like this one is going out of control, we should nerf it, that one is way too powerful, we should nerf it.
but man, nerf does not mean to kill the build completely, the server crashing CoI feedback loop is not because the skill able to generate energy when they are triggered, its because you set absolutely 0 limit on cast on ignite gem about how fast they can be triggered again. similarly barrier invocation cwdt builds are not overpowered because pyromantic pact can supply energy to barrier invocation, its because barrier invocation having 0 limit on fast it can be cast again once sufficient energy is provided. So you think you stopped the interaction so CWDT build with barrier invocation is dead, and you stopped burning inscription able to provide energy and CoI build is dead. But nerfing Burning Inscription wont kill CoI builds, as the true issue of all meta skills is not solved, killing burning inscription just force player to use another source to generate ignite, and because there are absolutely 0 limits on cast rate of meta skills, CoI or other meta skills will still be op. i mean, who the hell cares about the reduced energy gain? its only 200 comets per second or 100 comets per second, as 100 comets per second is still more than enough for current content So, although as the person who created the BI-loop CWDT build i wished the build get nerfed, i'd be even fine if you say BI cannot be triggered faster than 1 cast per second or something like that, i'll then be happy and go find other combinations or skill synergies. But all i see from the PN is what i have done really annoyed devs as all the nerfs on meta skill seemly targeting BI. no more pyromantic pact energy supply, halved energy generation, so now you need 10 es for 1 energy, meaning for a single cast of comet, it need to take about 2890 damage on ES with lv18 qual 20% BI instead of 1445 before the patch. And what people get is a single comet cast without casting time, but still delayed because comet need time to fall from the sky. the cost for this instant cast of comet is now : 60 less spirit for other gems, 1 less slotable support gem, not able to be echoed. so whats the point of use barrier invocation? do we have anything scenario that this 60 spirit, 1 less support gem worth it for able to cast a spell without casting animation? Nerfs are good.
Stop complaining. Just play, explore, and enjoy. A week later, people will inevitably find some OP build and switch to it if you’re only focused on one-button OP builds. In my opinion, Path of Exile is all about discovery and enjoyment. The only issue is FOMO – it pushes us to rush towards the OP build, while the trade system is frustratingly outdated. That’s really the only annoying part of the game. GGG, please fix the trade system. Everything else is fine – keep nerfing, adjusting, and improving the game. |

This is wild , im fine with some crazy nerfs if the performance and servers are stable. its expected some hiccups but lets hope there is no crash or collisions.

So hyped for the league!

I just think it's an interesting business decision to turn a mass marketed "more casual friendly" game into a Dark Souls type game.
...Like.... Okay I guess we had too much damage? Therefore we are going to remove all currently known defenses from the game? Like you'd think they would want to buff defenses so that players could participate in the 3-5 minute fights that GGG want's you to be having. Why are we expected to last longer in fights with SEVERELY less choices on how to survive longer fights? I really liked the more casual feel to PoE2 over PoE1. For me the idea of taking 3 to 8 seconds to kill every white mob and have only a 97% survival rate each time against said white mob.... idk that just doesnt seem fun to me. But, there are people out there who really like Dark Souls, I just am not one of them. While I am going to give this league a try to see if I am wrong, I just can't help but think that PoE2 just isn't for me any longer. |

At first I was very hyped to play PoE2 again, but reading all the QoL nerf made me very cautious not only about this single league, but for the future of the game at all...
Why making combats feel so clunky with a lot of cooldowns and delays? Curses were already a hassle to use, but adding a 0,5 delay? Damn... Not speaking about Hexblast which is completely dead, I don't know where the game is going from there... Wanting to slow down the pace is one thing... Wanting to create a soul-like feeling at end-game in an arpg, is another... And what is even the point in that? What is the point in making far end-game more "attractive" to casuals, when they'll barely go up to Pinnacle bosses? (And not just difficulty related, just because of the time they have...) It's just a way to kill the game both for Casuals who'll leave as they leave anyway, but now also for endgame players who'll be bored with so many things that will make the gameplay terrible... Hope it's just having it untested, but I more think I'll rather watch streams to see rather than playing... Cos it's too much, it's frightening... |

" What a logic ! Skill was "unrewarding" and dosnt get touched is now "rewarding" !?! |

Seems like a lot of players want a game that you play for 50 hours and then quit for 3 months at a time. Because if it's too much of a chore to play with multiple buttons/combos, few people going to hang around for much longer than that and keep grinding. Trade will suffer even more with fewer players around. More complaints about "dead league/game" sooner. I see it all coming.

Did you guys change the colors of the skulls on the minimap yet for rare/unique bosses? Red/Green colorblind here and can't tell the difference!

Friendly reminder that the game is in early access.
Thanks for all your hard work GGG and I sincerely hope you keep developing PoE 2 in line with your vision. |
