Be honest: Is PoE 1 "dead?"
Yes my friend, let's be honest. PoE 1 as the original game died in "Ultimatum". From there until Settlers the game agonized with adrenaline injections as it became an Alpha test of PoE. Now it is as if it were brain dead, surviving on devices, and make no mistake, TENCENT is waiting for the first opportunity to pull the plug.

They will NEVER say POE1 is dead, cause when you say a game is dead, people stop spending money.
And Tencent is all about those mtxs and nickle and diming their player bases. |

still no
Mash the clean

"No. "Hard pass. That's literally disregarding what made PoE successful in the first place. "That's your opinion but opinions can be wrong. There are plenty reasons. |

Dead? Definitely not.
Dead in reference to standard, likely, but this place has been nothing but a graveyard since years. GGG could nuke standard entirely and it wouldn't make much of a difference of the healthy state of the game. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

No. Needs some love though.

Standard has always been kinda dead.
Play the leagues. |

Standard would be better for me in my opinion if they labeled all the legacy stuff clearly. Also, if they added in a legacy mechanic to each of the current mechanics that would allow you to get the old cool gear, or at least an approximation of the old gear. For example maybe a rare crucible map could drop and be called "Legacy of the Crucible Graveyard" OR "Legacy of the Blighted Mesa".
The economy is an issue for me because everyone who plays standard has allot of currency already and asks for 10 mirrors on legacy/perfect gear (I think). Adding in Currency sinks might help keep it fresh. Maybe, gatekeep the really good legacy gear/or gear with t0 mods; For example, a system that demands a mirror sacrifice to enter and fight a boss with crazy legacy mods. I think this might enable "new" standard players to see and acquire the wide breadth of gear and build possibilities without feeling like they are gatekept by the Dead trade or the out of reach one of a kind legacy items. This is just my thoughts off the top of my head. this is probably a bad take but idgaf, for me it would make it much easier to enjoy all the crazy over the top shenanigans that for me defines what standard is. |

Getting rid of Standard is not an option... not everyone plays leagues for aforementioned reasons.
So now that we have PoE2, GGG needs to revert the nerfs to 'slow down' PoE1.
Never forget the great Alt Qual Gem deletion, the Ex > Div swap and loss of various crafting methods. Bring back Fire Nova Mine! If you're someone who hates on Standard and it's players, you are part of the problem. |

You are seeing algorithmic inflation.
The market is saturated with bots. They do all kinds of things monitoring prices influencing prices but given enough time the market would be totally broken. There are not enough victims for the bots to prey upon. Eventually they are competing with other bots 90% of the time. Each trying to achieve a maximum. The trends will always be faster to climb and slower to fall. Resulting in an up trend. Economy reset is not so bad. it resets the bots. Which is why leagues are more fun. For awhile you are just playing with people and everyone sucks. There is no market and you are just playing the video game. I would encourage you to play SSF. I get bored and slam divines on crap for fun . blow 40 50 100 chaos orbs on one crapy twinblade trying to brute force a rare combo... why .... cause its just rocks to me in SSF. I can't trade them , sell them , i use them ...... Im broke as a joke all the time ... All my exaults go to cannot be evaded crafts ... My chaos on... whatever... Essences ... why not just slam them as you get em ... no point in keeping them ... if you have a base... slam .. Leaving the market is liberating . The problem with PoE2 is actually ... that is has a market. It would be a more successful game without one. Well i came back to say .... The game would be better, but the number of players may not reflect it. Many love the market... and play just to interact with it. Several see it as a scoreboard for the game itself. So .. yeah .. I came back to the post to say.. im aware the market is loved. Last edited by Jitter912#4278 on Mar 20, 2025, 11:29:57 PM
