I do. I enjoy the tension and I die very infrequently, so it's never been a problem.


If you die very infrequently, you're avoiding all the challenging content.

Congrats, but some of us find that a boring way to play.

I pick a T15 waystone, alch, vaal, and go, barely reading the mods. I guess that's not challenging content. I agree, the game is way too easy to roflstomp with a league starter build.

For me 1 portal is fine. I have to get used to it and adapt. Options are there. I only hope they make "on death effects" more visible.

Im not that good player and I also died way to often so I changed few things that works for me:

1) I fully respec my atlas passive. Instead of running explicit nodes that makes map harder I go for pack size nodes, magic pack size wheel, number of monsters in the map wheel etc. I didn't take single explicit node --> idk you can check but this is my current tree:

2) I run only maps with 4-5 mods (most of them T14 - T15). Im trying to roll maps only to hit 3 prefixes. If f.e. I have 3 prefixes and 1 suffix I just stop. Suffixes makes maps harder. Before I pass 5k ES/ 3k mana (8k EHP) half of my maps which I run was just blue/magic :)

3) Im not running mods that makes my build weaker. I put them to separate stash tab and reroll them 3:1. I play as CI so im reroling this mods:
- burning ground
- - max resistances
- penetration

4) stun and freeze immunity:
- my freeze immune comes from Icebreaker (Gain 100% of Max Energy Shield as additionl stun treshold - btw I have 7.5k ES right now and im lvl 96)
- stun immune comes from some small passives on skill tree + I use 2 x rare jewels with "gain 10% ES as additional stun treshold". I also use Stone Charm in charm slot.
I know you can play HP based character but I believe those 2 ailments are necessary to deal with it. I saw many people play builds like full MoM + CI without any protection.

Also I wanted to point out that some things don't work for some people. Like 1 week ago I bought Temporalis body chest - 75 Divs for perma Blink. Unfortunately for me chest makes me way more squishy and after like 2 days give up because I die like once per 7 maybe 8 maps. Bad blinks to bad spots, lower ES pool (goes down from 7.5k to like 5.7). Lower ES pool means higher chance to get stunned etc. I mean chest itself is great but it's something for something. For me better is just rare with 900+ ES :)

You shouldn't be forced to play a specific way because POE2 is hot garbage. Your response proves that 1 portal per map is a trash game design that pigeon holes players into playing specific ways.
Oh come on! 1 portal is crap and alot of people aren't happy with it. It is just the same 4-5 forum-user, who enter every thread about it to tell people their builds or playstyle would be crap.

GGG has the data and I would bet, that there are alot of accounts with some characters between 65-75, that are not played anymore, but new chars are leveled up.
The devs themselfs said, endgame is in a poor state atm, so I think, they will respomd to that issue. One-portal might be a super mechanic for ruthless for example. But atm player turn away from endgame because of it and that can't be, what GGG wants, once the game releases.
So, if you don't have a prob with the 1-portal-policy, make a thread, how awesome it is. But don't lecture the people who complain about it, as if it was a good game-design, just to show off, how awesome you are. The elitism of this game-community sucks.
If I continue like this it won't be any fun so I'll go back to PoE.

I don't even start mapping ... 6 characters to end game not even interested in endgame.
And I don't see myself being interested in playing PoE2 after the new game smell fades and you are left with a game that doesn't drop anything interesting.
There are no ways to create anything interesting and the end game is what ?
Why would i want to play it ... farm for access to a one shot ... no thanks

1) I can but If I grab them I have to take into account that I will die every few maps. Im not Ben, Imexile or any other Gauntlet level dude. Maybe if I invest more in to the build but not for now.

2) same as above. Game is fine as I run her. I mean I was abble to get those 300 Divs for current build that mean items drop on blue or 4-5 mods map :)

3) as I said im bad gamer and currently on lvl 96 and 71%. I don't use omens for penalty loss and with changes that I show on 1st page I don't die to often. But yeah before I change that things I died a lot (/deaths = 264). Atm if I die it happends to things like screen freeze while in combat.

Yup, I am one of those ppl, abandoned the blood witch I had because I was dying too often to normal mobs, bosses were a breeze but only IF I managed to stay alive till I got there. Changed the build many times, lost a lot of dps to boost En shield as much as I could and I still got one shot by some random thing.
Gave up in the end and made a ranger.
My friend has been farming low tier maps because he has the same issue and he invested a few divs into the char yet a random on death mob kills him randomly.

Honestly I do hope that they fix the endgame soon after the team comes off break.
