Who though that "1 death = all portals gone" adds value and enjoyment to the game?
maps are easy to get, easy to juice, there's late game maps mechanism everywhere on your atlas; boss, ritual, whatever you like ... i rly dont understand the fuss about the one portal per map lol. if you die well just go for another one, it's not that hard :D.

" Because punishments in a game are not usually applauded. And currently there are 4 punishments for dying 1. -10%ex 2. Loss of map token 3. Loss of map augments 4. Loss of time All these for 1 mistake or just not able to see a 1shot. This is extremely harsh for a lot of players to digest. Poe1 had the 10% and time for 1 death, but it took 5 more deaths to lose the other 2. As everytime, why not bring back the 6 deaths and of you think it's to ez just self impose 1death and you move on. Or just play hard-core? |

The mechanic is essentially anti-coop. Which is my real issue.
It's absolutely ruining any reason to play with friends, because if you die you just get to sit around waiting to play gain. This game needs to be about player enjoyment, and part of that is improving the coop experience. PoE 1 was horrible. Lets not repeat that or make it even worse in PoE 2. Half the fun of gaming is loading up a game and playing with friends. PoE has only ever hit that mark with the campaigns. It falls apart almost immediately after that. |

I suspect something will be done through a middle ground to offset some of these things. You have to have some ups and down to make the game 'exciting'. The prospect of you finding other people's loot through trading that is. |

It's just not fun and way too much unnecessary stress. Stop forcing softcore players to play hardcore and just revert it to 6 portals. The game will lose sooo many players if this change doesn't happen lol

Remove it. Happens on disconnects and crashes, too. Needs to be removed ASAP. I shouldn't be so punitively punished just for a bit of bad luck, either, like an enemy suddenly critting (or some other bullshit aligning with the planets and stars) and I go from full to dead before I realize what happened. If I wanted that risk, I'd play hardcore. There's also the negative feedback loop given how weird waystone drops are where I can run a 400% increased drop rate in a T12, find only a T5, and then famine for 4 more maps until I finally get something higher than 7. You die a few too many times during a famine and you're running T4 at level 90.

I'd prefer to see something more co-op friendly and less punishing. From a player point of view: it only adds annoyance, not tension or excitement.

1 portal is not what softcore should be. Reset boss on death is acceptable but not one portal where I can't even learn boss mechanics because I need to farm another 300 fragments for attempt. Same with citadel bs. King of mists is total rng not even pity fragments for invitation same with expedition.
1 portal death needs to go from softcore. I work full time have family. From start untill now I got one breach stone. I died halfway through fight. Another attempt should be this week if I'm lucky. Never seen king of the mists, never seen expedition boss. I'm one fragment short from arbiter probably will die again and don't improve myself because I will never see full fight. When shaper got released in Poe 1 I got him in like 4th or 5th attempt. And it was easier to get access to it just play steadily, kill guardians. Here? Not only you can't get source of end game content (because you don't know where to go to get citadel) you are punished for not playing "tornado shot deadeye" build straight from poe1 (for breach stone). Everyone that is pro 1 death maps. Just give me a break. I play Poe way to long to listen to bulshit like git gud if I can't even practice being good. In fights during campaign I can practice and git gud, in end game you can go look for citadel using T1 maps it will be faster. Another thing is this bs ascendency. Why I need to run all 4 floors of it again and again and again? I beat first floor I want to start from second why waste my time? 4 tiers of Izaro lab was good design. Max 10 minutes to finish lab. Not 30 or if you play bad build for sanctum even more. WASTE OF TIME AND INVESTMENT. Punishment? Sure. But that's enough. This is purely stupid. I believe when I fail arbiter I will roll another character because campaign was fun end game is shit 1 death try hard mechanic for poe1 builds. End of rant. |
