Who though that "1 death = all portals gone" adds value and enjoyment to the game?
" How to spot someone playing private server. In PoE1. When you die, you lose a portal. You only got 6 portals aka 6 lives to finish the map. Dying already cost you a portal. If you die 6 times, you have lost the map and or boss. Death already had a punishment. Last edited by mrfox123#7595 on Jan 6, 2025, 8:37:28 AM

" Same. |

" If you die very infrequently, you're avoiding all the challenging content. Congrats, but some of us find that a boring way to play. |

" Exactly, death already had a punishment. The portal system worked great and should be brought back. |

" Same.[/quote] Same Seems only the small minority has a problem with it |

" And that's not even mentioning how league mechanics often only got one attempt. Breach? If you died you lost the breach. Delirium mirror? If you died it's gone. Ritual? Three to four attempts, however one failure puts you at risk of not being able to acquire the really valuable stuff if it shows up. |

" are you playing HC? |

It's super engaging gameplay to die and sit in your hideout waiting for your friend to finish the map because you can't enter anymore.
Best game design of the century. |

" Weird you need another person to play the game for you? How come your friend can but you can’t? Don’t see how that’s the games fault |

I honestly wouldn't mind the loss of portals nor the exp loss (though i wish it wasn't bumped to 15% instead of 10%), as it makes me learn to play more defensively and learn the mechanics of each mob but the atrocious frame drops during breach and the horrendous map layouts make doing breach and ritual a pain in the ass. Playing at 1080p still doesn't solve this issue.
I can't emphasize on how bad the layout of most maps are. Barely any big open maps and augury should straight up be removed. Delirium encounters are also a huge issue as I keep getting knocked back when del mobs spawn. |
