Hard crashing PC locks up

Could people stop spreading misinformation? Nobody really reported hardware bricking directly linked to the issue. Worst thing that could happen would be windows or drivers corruption, which is, while still bad, not extremely damaging.

They acknowledged the issue, what do you want more? That they repeat it here?
Whining isn't helping. Please be respectful for a team that is quite unique in the current game development scene, granting us with an extraordinary experience for many years.

Thank you.

Hence the "potentially". my computer forces itself to restart and glitches into a blue screen each time i launch the game and/or try to change zone.
Some people have CPU spikes above 95°C during load times. I feel like this would be able to dmg components, both with unscheduled and forced restarts and spiking temps and usages

The fact that it has been known to happen in POE1 as well for multiple weeks is also a concern, even tho i agree with you in the matter of the quality of the team at GGG.

Consistent hard freezes due to maxing out CPU utilization/temps are pretty serious. Certain rigs could definitely get tweaked being repetitively exposed to this, depending on how they are wired. I agree the game rules, and want people to enjoy it, and respect GGG for the vision, but issues like this are severe enough to warrant some serious attention.

If people spend thousands of dollars on their equipment, they don't want things broken. I recently had a power volt damage a CPU and need to get it replaced, these things can happen.

When you have to do a hard restart when your PC is powered on, can undeniably corrupt data and absolutely lead to damage to hardware. This is a serious issue that absolutely has to be addressed in a real manner. They need to collect data and make an attempt to actually communicate. Trying to deny the risk and downplay the issue is doing nobody any good.

Guess all we can do is keep bumping every crash thread we see until they respond, no other game behaves like this for me, nothing on my computer actually behaves like this

they have it posted in known issues though? whats the problem they are aware a crash like this isnt simple
Both Intel & AMD have recently seen voltage issues causing this locking behaviour.

Unfortunately this requires microcode update for the CPU and an update for Windows.

Without updating your BIOS any game/application can cause permanent damage and degrade your CPU performance.

https://videocardz.com/newz/asus-statement-on-damaged-ryzen-7000-cpus-mentions-amd-expo-and-soc-voltage

This is not an issue with POE development, the same thing is occuring on many new titles.

To fix this issue update your BIOS to the latest version per manufacturers instruction. I recommend updating your Windows/Graphics drivers to the latest version.

Whilst in the BIOS it's also worth checking to see if your Memory XMP/EXPO configuration is setup correctly, if the crashes still occur try to disabling.

This issue is most likely to occur on Intel 13/14 and AMD X3D series with outdated BIOS
+1

Stop defending the devs. My pc is up to date stock have no problems with more demanding games. I play all the latest titles with no problems. This only happens with poe2 !

Poe2 runs smooth, no fps drops, have no thermal throttling gpu temps 50c, cpu 50-65c in map, 70-78 while loading.
9800x3d stock latest AMD chipset, latest mobo BIOS
Rtx4090 latest drivers
64gb ram 6000 xmp
Win 11 up to date

I had to free up 2 Cores in Process Lasso... now the PC wont freeze but game still crashing. Switched from DX 12 to Vulcan ... seems a bit better but i currently cant log into act 3 City. Its getting unplayable.....

CPU: 5800X 3D
GPU: 4070 Ti Strix

Im very sure its something with the AMD CPU... Me and a friend of mine also had trouble in poe1 funny enough. Not to this extend but still i felt it. Crashed here and there... frame drops... stuttering. Espacially the cockwheels in loading screens. I also felt me and my friend always had trouble with the shader graph.. Huge spikes where other friend without any problems dont have those spikes. But again just a feeling. Im no expert....

PLEASE fix the crashed and look into AMD CPU problems. Srsly its getting unplayable at this point.
I'm not downplaying anything but no one reported a bricked component following the crash. Actually the one who did found out it was not related to it.
It's on the top priority issue list, they are working on it, the only useful thing to do is reporting your components and the exact setup that caused the crash.
Whining for another acknowledgement and spreading false information is useless, won't make anything go faster and make people look like entitled kids.
If you're worried about windows corruption, back up your important files.
Actually, even if you're not worried about a windows corruption, back up your files.
+1, probably 10+ full pc lockups during loading screens, can only power button restart. Same as most others on the thread, CPU temp/util spikes past 100%, and noticed it a lot more going to act 3 town, no idea if that's useful info or not.

- Windows 11 24H2
- 9800X3D
- RTX 3080
- ROG STRIX X870E-E mobo

Everything up to date. Didn't feel like trying all the wild CPU limiting methods outlined in the thread, but no crashes with multithreading off in-game. FPS tanks from capped 144 to about 25 in towns or combat lol but can at least play. Long time player/spender on poe1 - def couldn't live with multithreading off forever but allows me to save my pc and sanity until someone releases some sort of fix. prayge.
