Hard crashing PC locks up
Can confirm this has been happening for awhile now.
Windows 11 24h2. Latest Nvidia Drivers. i5-12400f RTX 3050 32GB DDR4 nVME SSD 1TB No overclocks or anything of that nature. Other games run smoothly even the most graphically intensive ones. Temperatures are fine. What I can confirm is that this is a cpu-related issue with POE2. If I hop into power plan options and reduce my cpu power from 100% to 99% which on my Intel CPU basically removes the boost clocks and the CPU only runs at it's base clocks then I can safely run POE2 and load into zones without my game crashing my entire PC. The only downside is that I'm losing on a lot of performance. Same goes with disabling multithread rendering in POE2. It fixes the PC lock up, but that also reduces performance by a lot. |

Adding my own situation as im currently having the Crash on zone causing pc to lock up
Started on saturday (played and streamed all friday with zero crashes that werent part of mass disconnects) Windows 11 Home Ram 16GB ddr4 GPU rtx 3060ti 16gb CPU Rysen 8600X 6 core 3.8ghz Playing on an MSI 1440p monitor using DLSS DLAA, had more frequent issues when NOT using DLSS and DLAA. if the known issue isnt fixed by friday ill make a follow up post after ive upgraded my ram to 64gb ddr5. Edit: Random added Note. when i play overnight I almost entirely DONT experience crashes, if theirs less then say 300k people on steam roughly i seem to have zero crashes for HOURS. " At the very least the game opens up again, still need to test if solves anything, but given the other posts, I'm not expecting to do it. |

Guess all we can do is keep bumping every crash thread we see until they respond, no other game behaves like this for me, nothing on my computer actually behaves like this

Hi,
Posting on this one as well, can't even launch the game, loading screen to make it to server selection sends my PC into BSOD... Ryzen 7 5800X RX7900X I read someone said the issue is more severe during peak hours and i seem to have noticed that as well, idk if it is confirmation bias or if there is something there. I also had the same issue in POE1 as i tried to play again on it prior to POE2 launch This is really concerning as it can potentially brick real life expensive hardware... I'm fine with desktop crashes; on an EA it might even be funny sometimes but here i am feeling like i play russian roulette with my expensive hardware... If only i could transfer my EA key to PS5 |

Could people stop spreading misinformation? Nobody really reported hardware bricking directly linked to the issue. Worst thing that could happen would be windows or drivers corruption, which is, while still bad, not extremely damaging.
They acknowledged the issue, what do you want more? That they repeat it here? Whining isn't helping. Please be respectful for a team that is quite unique in the current game development scene, granting us with an extraordinary experience for many years. Thank you. |

Crashes two more times again last night
Bumping and here's to hoping they get a fix, this is ridiculous, I've never heard of a game releasing and bricking this many peoples PCs, even if it's an early access this is unacceptable. ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) When you disconnect in the lab ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

" No, we cant. This is serious issue. Not damaging? Losing all your work (real work, not ingame), losing your time to fix it? Still not extremly damaging? Last edited by Diarm#7740 on Dec 10, 2024, 5:54:18 PM

I agree the worst i have had was my sound driver dying on crash, but a reload fixed it all. If pc parts are crashing thats a seperate issue people should make a post about seprately.
