Build diversity is still terrible

You an achieve the same result with melding of the flesh.

Yep, get Tasalio Cleansing water on forbidden jewels, a melding of the flesh and you have a chiftan on a Jug or Berzerker.

Those two things gave me the same survivability and much more dps moving from Chieftan to berserker.
I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.
Nowadays you either must have 90% all res or 100% spell suppression (with some max res added on top) or both. Or, you know, be a Trickster who never dies. Probably why the number of Deadeyes dropped - they have no survivability by default.

90% all res wont do much for you these days.i had a RF chief with that and he died quite often to phys dmg or chaos or who knows. you need a bunch of different layers. 100% spell suppress by itself probably wont do much either. and getting all these layers together is not cheap

It really isn't, the autobomber Chieftain is proof of that. Enduring cry is already a huge defensive boost for every class just by itself.

yeah but that build has zdps...if you want decent dps and tankiness together then its not cheap. i tried so many builds this league but i keep going back to my trickster because thats the only build that doesnt die and has the dps for t17 and ubers

Well, there you go. The build I am using is tanky as hell and eats T17 bosses/Wave 15 Simulacrum bosses for breakfast. This is without boosting it further with totem life tattoos and such.

yeah but that build sucks for mapping. its no secret flamewood totem is great for bossing but thats about it. i wish we had more builds that are great for both and dont need a MB to be tanky

Not even close actually. The old one for sure, but the new one uses 8 searing bond totems which are boosted to the moon and melt white mobs without any support. In fact, I am murdering the first half of the Simulacrums with just searing bond, no need for the avenging flame to even activate.

i havent played the new but surely the aoe clear cant be good on any totem build. people want fast mappers that can clears screens away. thats why deadeye was so popular. sadly now even with HH its too squishy to be viable
Depends on what you want to clear. Clear speed is not that important if you do rituals, for one. Or safehouses. Or bossing. Or invitation farming. Or corrupted maps (the only map mode this build can't do is less/no regen). Or deathless T17, albeit a bit slower. I'd say there is a market for this.
