From what we've seen so far, do you feel you're going to stay with PoE1 or move to PoE2?
Honestly speaking from what I've seen of all the leagues since Ultimatum with rare exceptions like Affliction, Poe is no longer a game for me, and I shouldn't even stay for the 2nd. This game has a very clear audience, Nolife P2W you may even find it hilarious that a game that doesn't sell items becomes P2W but that's what Poe has become, everything is funneled into uber uber content, if you have a trillion build you do everything AFK, but if you're playing the game as a normal human being.... prepare to suffer. the game became a time sink and this league had nothing to offer, they took the worst of each league and put it in a slot machine, all revolving around getting gold to bet on RNGs like a lottery, the boat lottery, the maprunners lottery, the Recombinator lottery... The maps are empty, the mechanics are useless, to farm first you have to farm to invest in scarbs and then in t17 not even when I worked with daytrade did I feel like this, where is the RP, where is the Hack and slash? killing 50 million mobs for nothing while a guy with a bild of 15 mirror kills the bos of t17 and makes it rain magebloods doesn't seem like fun to me.

" You, specifically, should try PoE2. You don't have jump on the Beta/Early Access launch if you're not feeling it, but you should try PoE2. It's shaping up to be a very different game than PoE1; GGG have clearly been trying to learn from the mistakes they've made with the original game over the years. Remember, remember the 6th of December...

Everyone in this thread is going to play it.

Gonna switch to POE2, if its not doing it for me I'll just come back to POE.

This game will rarely see me when the 2nd one drops.

" The same reply was already given and we've already talked about this. This has nothing to do with what OP is asking. We'll all play it, most of us will uninstall it after. I honestly hate what PoE has become over the years, but also think that PoE 2 will fail to provide what PoE used to be about. One is nothing but zoom zoom, the other is a ruthless dark souls game. Shouldn't have been this hard to hit the middle ground Last edited by auspexa on Aug 29, 2024, 1:10:49 AM

PoE 1 for sure, 2 will go the same route of D4.
Incredibly sad to see the greatest game since Diablo 2, go in the complete opposite direction of what makes PoE so damn good - purely to cater to the casual, wider audience rather than the true GGG die hards that have supported and kept this game alive all these years. I hope that I'm wrong and it turns out to be amazing. But from what I've seen so far... not looking good at all.
I would have loved to give my beta feedback on warrior and get a feel for the gameplay.
Overall i like the focus on melee in PoE2 and i think PoE 1 got way too fast with dirty screen clutter at some point. A switch is likely for me but highly depends on endgame gameplay too.
From what I've seen so far for Path of Exile 2 the developers are hard at work in making the sequel feel and look as realistic fantasy as possible. Visuals and sounds aside, the fact that the new game is so much harder than the first one adds to the level of realism GGG is going for in the second title.
Character Power fantasy will be there, your Exile will become stronger as you progress through the Acts. The actual combat gameplay however will be different than POE1 and I absolutely LOVE that. Combo-skills gameplay sounds much more appealing than 1-button zoomer builds that teleport 5 screens in 2 seconds and explode every monster one-shot. People are clueless about it, but putting some effort in your gameplay as you play the game adds SO much more satisfaction and dopamine flow. Most think 1-button build is fun, but that's one of the main reasons why they play a POE 1 league for 2 weeks max before they hop off. The other reason I never truly invested myself in POE 1 is the fact the game arrived at a Disco-visuals FX fest so fast. Screen is literally unreadable visual mess when it comes to endgame play and this drives me off. POE 2 fixes that (its what Game Director Jonathan Rogers has stated a few times). Your character wont be shooting 50 explosions per second, instead they will be like 5 but will FEEL like 50. I love that approach and I think it is a healthier option for the game. Path of Exile 2 adds much needed diversity in Combat gameplay between characters/builds which I think in turn boosts replayability by a huge margin. Add to that actual POB and theorycrafting builds and you end up with a cosmic number of possibilities within the new game. It won't be for everyone, sure, but TONS of people will play and enjoy POE2. That's my prediction. Last edited by Paramaum on Aug 29, 2024, 4:26:48 AM
