From what we've seen so far, do you feel you're going to stay with PoE1 or move to PoE2?
| poe 2 dont have RF build, maps are tunnels just like in D4 its awfull! | |
| I'm playing POE2 right now and its been years since I did POE1. In POE1 I always just did hardcore league as a "see how far you can go" sort of deal and didn't ever do mapping or the like. In POE2 I've been mostly playing standard and have gone into the mapping. The main reason is that the unique bosses are very swingy on character builds early game, with the act II opening boss being one of the ones that stands out to me the most. To me, what makes PoE1 stand out is that it is a clean gaming solution that works well since it doesn't try to over complicate certain details. If a unique boss acts like a rare monster it means there is more flexibility in how that scenario can be handled depending on character build. In PoE2, it is basically a coin flip with Evasion + ES being the most solid option 99% of the time, since bosses and many special encounters often result in the player getting boxed in. On pure evasion ranger, for example, I'm 99% of the time clearing the map and then kiting bosses to avoid getting murdered by lightning, exploding tracking death orbs, curse puddles, and all sorts of garbage. It's literally the only option since two hits and you die. | |
| stay with PoE1. But honestly i feel so betrayed by the management of the game after announcing PoE2 will be standalone that i lost my desire to play either game kinda.... | |
| Unfortunately, I can never go back to Poe1 as long as it lacks the same graphic level as Poe2. Yea, Graphic is a big factor for me here. I heard and noticed they are upgrading Poe1 graphics with new assets better made but it looks just not enough. Last edited by OceanOnece#6272 on Feb 24, 2025, 7:04:47 PM | |
| ... Masterpiece of 3.16 lore "A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks Last edited by gandhar0#5532 on Feb 25, 2025, 5:07:39 PM | |
| " I know, it's weird. I guess it grew on me, haha. Maybe it's an acquired taste? What I like about it is the steady sense of expansion. I find it very satisfying to watch the region of green dots gradually expand. It's actually kind of relaxing and therapeutic. I just go wherever my whims take me. I do play in SSF, and I don't put pressure to optimize too much on myself. I do T15/T16 maps, and I do plan out what I will put in towers, but I also understand that there's such a thing as optimizing the fun out of the game. That being said, I would love to see the concept being expanded. Like, I'd love to see each collection of nodes being called a "region" with it's own name, backstory, maybe a faction affinity, and so on. That way, if I clear out say 16/16 maps in the so-and-so region, I think I'd feel a completionist's sense of accomplishment. | |
| " haha exactly the game that came to my mind when they said they re going for boss fights and meaning full combat. :) vindictus for the little i played was more fun than poe 2 though | |
| Currently there is no point playing poe2. I did my two characters, I had fun, but i won't participate in the race or play any further. The endgame is frustrating and boring, even the awful relic system of poe1 right now is better, and its pretty bad. So no, without fundamental changes poe2 as a game will only be played by ruthless players and the recurring story players each time a new class is announced. Current Build: Penance Brand God build?! https://pobb.in/bO32dZtLjji5 | |
| Besides visuals, audio and movement I don't see any benefits in playing PoE2. If I wanted all of that, I could have just installed D4. So, I'll stick with PoE as long as they support it. If it goes on life support, I'm done with ARPG's, except Christ Wilson and God Brevik decide to team up for a new one. Last edited by H3rB1985#0551 on Feb 26, 2025, 4:11:45 PM | |
| " As a former Vindictus player this hit so true. It really is slow rolly Vindictus in isometric but I don't even get the satisfaction of beating enemies with environmental objects and breaking their backs over my knee. The more More you have, the less Less matters | |
