From what we've seen so far, do you feel you're going to stay with PoE1 or move to PoE2?
just see and try first...

I want to believe that POE1 and POE2 will alternate league releases (hopefully on a bi-monthly basis; Jan, March, May, July, etc), in which case I will actively play both games... such is the addiction.

" I mean no one can literally predict the future, so that's not really a good response. I don't think that needs to be clarified. However, they have verbally stated how they intend and hope the PoE1 & PoE2 legaues will work with each other. The leagues will be staggered, that much seems clear, but we don't know exactly by how much, if the legaues with be themed similarly, how supporter packs will work (joint?), and so on. That's always confused me greatly, in the forumwide resistance to PoE2 as even just a base concept - people just actively cast aside the developers' own words and act like Jonathan and the team are deliberately lying to them with malicious intent aforethought, and I cannot for the life of me fathom why.
Like, can one have doubts about how well something will work in practice, or not care for the direction a particular design decision went, or even be upset with PoE2 in its entirety and have no interest in the new game? Absolutely. Those are all valid. I've seen people say they were turned off of PoE2 entirely and permanently by the implementation of WASD movement, and while I cannot fathom in my gut why, their stance at least makes reasonable sense - they don't like how WASD changes the gameplay loop and are upset with the break from ARPG tradition. But this idea that they're actively lying about the plan to support PoE1 after PoE2's release, or lying about the fact that endgame is gonna be faster and blastier than the early-game content we've seen so far, or that they'll do their best to work in MTX cross compatibility between the two games...it's like, why are you possessed by these insane conspiracy theories? If you just don't want to switch games that's fine, there's no need to invent all this secret Machiavellian maliciousness and nefarious hoodwinking some people are CONVINCED Grinding Gear is trying to pull. Guys. Seriously. Truly. They're doing the exact same thing now that they did fifteen years ago - making the game they want to play. They've simply had fifteen years for their idea of The Game They Want To Play to evolve, grow, and be refined and honed. | |
" "Because the first Path of Exile is continuing alongside PoE2, its leagues are set to run on a similar, but offset, schedule, with leagues in PoE1 beginning roughly 4-5 weeks before the end of a PoE2 league, meaning dedicated players should be able to spend time with both games if they choose" -Jonathan Rogers Sure, they can adjust the schedule slightly, but it certainly isn't a big question mark. They've said this multiple times too. Last edited by jsuslak313 on Sep 12, 2024, 5:28:41 PM

" Wrong about what? They said what he said. Multiple times. Are you denying reality? The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" That's really puzzling, what you're saying. If corporate jargon is reality for you, then I can only applaud. If someone makes claims without any data to back them up, or without similar projects in the past, it's obvious that it's just PR, nothing more.
