Why gate the new gems behind lab?

i have always hated uber lab also never done it cause it wasn't needed.

but i don't mind farming merc lab to get some lovely favourites of mine for sure :) just skip all the side bs and get straight to the end :) it will be fine. was scared at first thinking it was only uber lab but thank satan in heaven i was wrong x'D

Oh really? The most annoying part is gambling mods in slot machine, for some unknown reason called "crafting" and the balance built around the trade. Lab is ok.

A better question is "Where else would they put it?"

As I understand it, even normal labs will pay out 1 gem. Randomly yes but they still pay out. Which means over the leveling process a player will pick up three of them at least if I'm remembering right.

Or should they be shoved into Map content?

I like the lab being a part of the PoE journey. Don’t have to play it to often, but a few runs are ok. Sure, other content is more fun. But I don’t get it why some people just straight out hate it. 🙈
Even skip their ascendency points. That sounds extreme. 🙃

Ye lvl 70 gems are stupid. No reason people shouldn't be able to lvl with these. They aren't super new, they're just reworks of skills the game already has. Some of the new gems are even weaker than the existing ones. Esp for leveling. So no reason to have to wait.

It's almost like you don't read the patch notes.
You can get them starting the normal lab.

Labs better than Heist, at least to me. Good layouts are super quick to run.
