Why gate the new gems behind lab?

Running heist for gems was trivial and was a matter of going in and out. Lab, on the other hand, is quite tedious. Not hard, simply long and tedious.

I agree with Kuciol here. While I am not a fan of either lab or heist, I still do them and quite frankly, other being a time sink, running lab isn't all that bad as long as the layout is okay.

As a side note: I wonder if they are looking at redesigning lab layouts because backtracking for keys, etc, get frustrating. Prolly not, but I wonder.

Lab is the same, the layout is fixed for the day. After doing a couple of times it takes what? 3 minutes? You just need a slightly stronger char if you are doing the gift of the goddess thingy.

Also, if you don't buy the stuff on tft or whatnot(ssf for example), Heist takes ages to prepare. Lab is just there to go for it.

There is a small difference of lab having no general loot, no exp, but having traps instead, with no reward to spend time avoiding them.

I did vouch for adding more content to lab in some earlier thread here, but that was about generic loot, on par with other major farming strats. What they've done is put unique and mandatory rewards in there, so every player will either have to spam lab (wasting time on loot and exp scale), or rely on trade even more.

Heist worked as fully functional arpg gameplay with full spectrum of rewards from other league content, and gems on top. Lab in its current state is weird gimmick for hardcore masochists made by hardcore masochists.
How is it masochistic to get a bunch of movement speed and life regen and just run to the end?(knowing exactly where to go)

Do you even know how many players consider Heist to be masochistic gameplay? ;P

And what would you get from that? Time spent in lab gives nothing for progression, even in lvl 83+ version which you cannot spam.

i am not sure whats worst lab or heist... both sucks.

but lab is super easy and fast to farm after few runs and knowing a route.
At least they could have added exp bonuses every first time you pass a new trap gauntlet, pretty sure those can be identified as area building blocks at runtime.
If the gems/options on the divine fond are not worth it to run lab than there is no point doing it of course...

And if you paly trade it is of no concern anyway, you can just buy what you want. In ssf you can run normal lab if you are so desperate for a skill gem.(i would take the first broken one i see and reroll, problem solved).

Edit: One does not simply play ssf and get what they want ;P
