Divines per hour more important than fun

Putting together a build to clear all content is easy. Usually you start as glass canon, then it gets more expensive as you get more tankiness while maintaining the dps.

Items like Annihilating Light and Abyssus are cheap.

pb is you dont really read. no wonder you dont understand what you call the div / hour mentality. you seem to have no pb than all of alva, all the rooms, the monsters the atmosphere, the graphic, in the end all of it is reduced to "just sell/buy" temple rush in that room and use that single crafting on an item. all the content being completely fake and a misdirection.

same for beasts btw. you can mostly use a couple beasts, all others are useless. it s not the players that have the div/hour mentality, it s fundamentally built into the game.

Just a moment ago you was trying to tell me that I wrote something that wasn't there, but I'm glad we're finally getting somewhere. So div/hour as fun factor is build into base game? I guess I must have download a faulty client then. But I'll include this feedback. Thank you.

Well, the entire premise of the game and similar games is to grind currency and improve your build. Otherwise you wouldn't be doing the same activities over and over again.

Depends how you look at it, for some goal can be creating builds, killing masses of monsters, overcoming challenges, creating great items or grinding currency. Overall currency is not related to how much fun I have.

The point still stands - you work on something but this something is always related to currency. Even in SSF, even if you only want to complete challenges. Can't do that without crafting/paying.

I would say that currency is like tertiary or even further thing, not really much important, something we get anyway while playing. I self crafted my gear and did the challenges, div/hour is totally not relevant to that - what matters for me this league is beating the challenges.

POE is not one of those games where a naked character can do all content by learning patterns, everything requires some degree of investment.

-creating a build requires items that cost currency
-can't kill masses of monster or do challenges with a naked character
-crafting items requires currency

a build can be more or less expensive and one can be more or less efficient on the use of said currency to build it but they all have an entry cost.

the only way to reduce dependence on currency is transferring power from the items to the skill tree.

If min/maximizing the game and making a powerful character is important, self crafting your own gear is less optimal and you doing things that is slowing down your progress. Are you are not less efficient and worse of than others who did otherwise? What you are doing might be what other consider detrimental or you are playing it "wrong".
