Divines per hour more important than fun
" Currency per hour has many meanings. - My build is strong and fast, currency per hr directly correlates to a better build - Many of the best and strongest builds, especially new ones, have high inflation, and thus cost a lot more to play. Thus if you want to play them, you either A need to play way longer to get the currency, or B need to play more efficiently to get the currency faster. - There are plenty of ways to make money fast in PoE. However the best ones are usually the most boring. Trading all day in hideout is hands down the best money making method in the game. Heist is guaranteed income. Essences always have value, even if it drops. Delirium used to be OP for making currency, particularly in combination with Beyond, and both of these were nerfed. The Archnemesis mobs in their original addition to core game were amazing, when things hits right. But people tend to complain when the 1% can abuse things like this and get it nerfed for the 99%. - GGG does ruin good methods of div/hr. There is no argument there, and usually its because a streamer got it nerfed. - To maximize currency per hr in any specific content does require a specific build, and its not uncommon for that type of build to be something you do not enjoy. - Running lab to get enchants is profitable, however that requires game knowledge, and the foresight to obtain bases that are worth enchanting on. Even a white good base item with a good enchant is worth up to multiple divines. - Ritual is a good money maker, but it requires actually using multiple filled vessels. If it wasn't a good money maker you wouldn't be able to pawn off truck loads of filled vessels by the day, plus what ever you get from ritual itself, which can include divines. Essences like I said are always worth something, but if you want to sell in bulk quickly, you need TFT, and thats an extra step. Is Divines per hour more important than fun? It depends on what you find fun. For many their 1st build in a new league is not even a build they want to play. Its some junk starter character they use to get currency to play something they actually want to play, something they will actually have fun playing. The longer the transition is between your starter, and your desired build, the less fun these people are having. For me, I don't care what build brings in the most divines per hour. As you can see from my undeleted characters, I play Cyclone basically every league, and my starter is what ever because I use my starter to learn something different every league. Then If I actually like the league and want to play longer, I might branch into a 3rd build that costs a lot. At the end of the day, if you want to maximize your income and growth by actually playing the game, the constant changes and nerfs across the game really mess things up, especially when the drop rates of things are changed every league to match the size of the current player base at the time (You will notice leagues with more players than normal usually have better drop rates and div/hr rates, because the expected player numbers are lower than what actually happened). If you want to maximize div / hr though, the best way is to not even play the game at all. Just copy the people in trade chat, trading currency at scam rates for large bulk profit over an extended period of time, and bam you can get your mageblood or headhunter without even leaving your hideout. The topic and the thread starter's thoughts are the reason why players have easy unlimited access to the market. Players accumulate enough currency (in-game money) and buy good rares / uniques or craft new ones.
Each time you see the new thread with babycrying "Chris! Introduce AH" or "Why can't we have modern shop like chinese client already has?" or "GIMME TRADE PLATFORM I CAN'T PLAY! :tears:", the drawback of this feature is complaining ppl, because they want to play the game, to play ARPG as it is. And not to play trade sim. Divines / hr make sense in the trading environment where Divines are primary currency for trading operations. SSF doesn't solve the problem because drop rates are not balanced NOT having the market available. So if you complain about Div/hr importance than actual gameplay, ask GGG to remove or limit the trading in the game. And sure, you should be the one who completely against of introducing "auction house"(bot house), because it will make your life even worse. Last edited by cursorTarget on Oct 18, 2023, 6:08:10 AM

It's pretty simple, the amount of RNG layers in PoE is at the level where your self found items are likely a dogshit or not usable by yourself -> straight to market bin it goes. Also the reason why you hide non currency items and items with unclear value - living the efficiency illusion.
If you play for fun to reach item levels by yourself, the amount of time required is basically a full time job (streamers praising the game, hello). So what's the solution? Playing the market - be the hamster in the market wheel. Play for profit per hour, so you can buy what you need to feel accomplished. If you deviate, you will likely get stuck in some content level, or get burned out. I represent only myself, my own thought and believes. I am individual, not a representative of the community.

" Look at them moneh <3 Love it~ "For we are not now that strength, which in old days moved Earth and Heaven. That which we are, we are; one equal strength of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will: to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." - Ulysses, Tennyson
