Why PoE 2 will again not get a Auction house? (or trading system)

Well they could *at the very least* program the "official POE trade site" into the game! Its the alt-tabbing sh*t in 2023 that just does not cut it anymore, imo. Doesn't take a university diploma to integrate that.

They answered this in ExileCon. The trade website isn't implemented in-game because the game is not designed to be a web browser. Web browsers are designed to be web browsers. Getting all the same functionality from an in-game interface that the web browser provides would be a hassle. They can do it, certainly, but it's not seen as an exceptionally high priority issue. After all - and this is me talking, not something the devs said - does it really make THAT much of a difference to be looking at the exact same interface inside or outside of the game client?

Yeah, God forbid it would be a hassle, right?

At the surface, no; it wouldn't make that much of a difference. But if they made an in-game version of the trade search tool, it would be more precise and it would be easier to seamlessly tie it better to the game, with item ID's, whispers and to build more functions into it. It would also be a GREAT asset to new players. Believe it or not, there are still new players that do not know about the trade site, and use the trade chat. Does the game itself even tell you about the trade site? I can't help to think it would be faster and more reliable if it all didn't go through an online API.

And guess what? If they did that, they could even stop sharing the trade API, so everyone would trade on an equal level.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

The current system is probably already too convenient for their tastes. You literally just search and press the PM button to buy something these days. So also putting all that in-game would be a bit too much.
Ninja.

How many modern games or AAA games you know HAVE to alt-tab for one of the main feature of that game? 1 or 2 out of several hundreds, about right right? The game isn't better because you HAVE to alt-tab, its worse. It DOES make a difference.

one of the reasons i quitted PoE was there is no trade system

Well there is one and from what I know it existed since forever.
VAC RGL RGI SOE DCC
Think trading is fine honestly i don't think alt+tab is a big deal, also appreciate the fact you can trade everything unlike "modern" games with there binding BS like d4/last epoch.

Sure it can be improved especically console but i'd rather like to see some service support on trading website so players don't have to rely on 3rd party stuff like tft.

There have been circumstances where I have been staying away from home and need to use Geforce Now to stream the game for league launches (to varying levels of success where internet speeds aren't quite first class.) For those instances, I found that trading was a rather excruciating experience. The issue is that trade macros don't work while streaming the game, and the workaround is convoluted and unreliable. In those circumstances I have very much wanted to have the trading interface in the game somehow, but I can understand the reasons why GGG decide not to do so in the effort of keeping a balance of making the game about finding your items and buying your items.

Once using a third party trade tool for a Voricci craft I wanted to do on a particularly frustrating 6-link colour combination, I came to realize that the barriers that GGG put in place for disincentivizing complex transactions such as bulk purchases and bossing services didn't work, as the system pretty much (or pretty much looked looked as if it) ran like clockwork. I didn't really feel like I faced enough inconvenience for the reward of not having to go through betrayal. I had already tried to do that beforehand - assuming that it was the easier (and I suppose more interactive) method of just playing the damned game - where I proceeded to get him to 3/4 stars, and then fail both the hideout and mastermind rolls for the colours I wanted.

I mean, I just keep the trade website/wiki/Discord/YouTube background music/whatever-else on my other monitor? I'm honestly not sure what the pitchfork-worthy disconnect is, you have to stop mapping and sift through a browser to trade kinna regardless of whether the browser is integrated into the game client or not. So...?

Well, since open beta to be exact. In closed beta we had to drop items on the ground to trade.

Edit:

Now that i think about it they could just make a button in game that would open the trade site for you the same way many games have for registrations. Hell even PoE has one.
