Why PoE 2 will again not get a Auction house? (or trading system)
I can only agree that trade as it is now is annoying piece of .... Designed to waste time and patience. I wanted to test some stuff and i needed few items, each of them took me A LOT OF time and messages to get ANY kind of answer. I was being ignored 99% of time, sometimes i saw someone just making item more expensive, mostly just no reaction. If only ssf have some MF boost to give a chance to find gear in reasonable amount of time i wouldnt even bother playing that toxic trade league. In game AH would do the job as well:)

I liked the AH in LE. You need to level uo and it's part of the game. I don't see any problem doing something like that in PoE2. And it's very easy to keep AH from being flooded with quadrilions of items. Gold fee for posting item. For example 20k.if you post everything you find you would end running out of gold without any profit.
Current system is very complicated. I mean i have items for sale 1-3 ex and guys are keep whispering while I'm busy. So either i have to waste my time for such a little profit or i have to ignore them. And potential buyer is also wasting finding seller who would answer him. In LE u put items for sale and you don't have to be disturbed. You can keep playing. |

From a working person's perspective I can say that an Auction House is a very nice tool to have.
There can be some limitation indeed, such as list maximum 20 items per Account (not per character), times -> 24h, 48h, 72h each of those times will cost 10,000 gold -> 20,000 gold -> 40,000 Gold. You will have the option to either set a starting bid / no buyout or starting bid / buyout price. As I was saying from a working person's perspective, this will allow me to actually sell any loot I get when I can play the game. As I'm playing a limited amount of hours per day/week and if I have to simply sit in the game to do trades and nothing else in order to sell my items well that's kinda boring. Additionally having to contact people from the trade site, to simply not get an answer for one or other reason (like they fighting atm, they just went to the toilet or they simply ignoring you) is the most annoying aspect that I have seen. I mean there are times I have to contact like 20 people in a row in order to get an item, some times I have to actually wait more than an hour to get a trade (me buying an item) just because the people haven't responded. With an Auction House that will be removed. Now the only Negative thing about having an Auction house is the pricing of an item. As there are a ton of people who indeed try to scam/undercut items from their regular price, so that's something that GGG must invest time on how it can be prevented. As some item simply listing the "last 10 sells" won't cut it, due to the fact that A person could have traded with one of his friends in order to undercut the price of 'last 10 trades/sells'. |

I’m new to POE and loved the campaign, so I bought the supporter pack. But I get frustrated when it comes to trading.
Why can't we have instant buyout and bidding system in game like wow. Last edited by evance1988#5572 on Mar 15, 2025, 4:20:02 AM

It will probably have something at some point, as Last Epoch has.
We had about what, 8 years of 'trading is supposed to be frustrating', 'perfect capitalism' and so on. Eleventh Hour got in the spot light with their trading faction for Last Epoch, and head of heals, we got the currency exchange. Guess GGG changed their mind overnight and it had nothing to do with it. So my bet it PoE will at some point have an AH. LE just needs to get a bit closer to its heels. Did you try turning it off and on again?

Faustus has shown that AH can exist in PoE.
That's all. |

it just costs GGG more money. You'd need a couple people to develop and maintain the trading functions. You'd need a good bit more bandwidth, I would imagine. You'd need more server space for the auction posts.
I imagine it's just about not wanting to spend the capital on it for fear of it being a pure loss. They are dead wrong. It's easier to keep bots of the economy. Not harder. |

Now imagine AH + once this goes live F2P. People loaded with RMT currency will run bots/automation to purchase stuff first before you can then control the market lol.

" You can't use logic with these guys. They are the wrong generation to see it. They think that the AH will benefit them greatly. It won't. We will go from posts that want the AH. To posts that complain about the AH and that accounts need buy limits. Then it'll be GGG can't stop bots or some jazz. Then they'll say the AH failed. Oh and don't forget the few posts that complain "I sold my item for too low and it's GGG's fault" Fact is there are people who consider trading the actual game. AND when you make it an AH you give them an even more powerful tool to control the market. Bots/RMT aside, real people with free time and a live search combined with a buyout option in an AH or even the ability to watch a timer will destroy the economy faster than we have now. At least now when someone with half a thought lists something and gets 100 /w in 10 seconds they can hopefully think "I under priced this" but you put it on an AH, psh. |

" This is 'trust me bro' territory. Faustus has been ingame for a while. And he has proven that instant trading didn't destroy the currency economy. |
