That was before I knew that they've known for more than three years that the games would be separate.

I've graduated to done. Certainly done spending. Trying to come to terms with whether the principle of it is worth dropping a game I otherwise love, or just accepting they lied for three years and do F2P.

I reserve the right to spend money in the Shop IF I decide I (or my wife) really want a particular MTX for reason of uber-coolness or utility. "Support" no longer comes into the equation.

As for "the end of days," I fear that may come sooner than we think, if GGG can sell enough people on PoE II.

Yeah, that's the only prevailing argument for staying and playing at this point beyond the fact I actually still really enjoy POE1. I paid for years with the expectation of one thing because of what they said would come, but I also paid because I enjoyed the game overall.

If playing POE1 as F2P wins, it will be purely because of the part of my support that went toward just my enjoyment of the game and not the future improvements to POE1.

I'm 100% done spending though. I can't remove the thought that I'm throwing most of that money at a game that really doesn't have much to do with the game that I want to support -- let alone the lying part.

I VERY VERY rarely post here, i don't play diablo 3/4, i have never played Elden ring. I play poe.. I have for 10 years. POEABLO4 from exilecon.. My disappointment is immeasurable..

I'm already looking for what to move on to. I'm absolutely shocked at this outcome. Being lied to for 3 years just killed my trust. It's gone.

I genuinely feel bad for those of you who feel betrayed by TencentGGG. I like some of you and hate that you feel you are being done dirty by the very people you supported all this time.

The streamer priority login "for a truckload of money" didn't convince you.

The ludicrous notion of PoE "2", designed to reinvigorate the player base and attract new supporters, being forced into an outdated, bloated game didn't convince you.

The level of indignation I am seeing here is off the charts. How do you tell people with a good six decades of life experience to grow up? You are being offered, for free, a brand new, shiny AF PoE game that by all accounts looks easily as good as anything else out there WITH YOUR POE1 MTXES ATTACHED.

FFS do you have any clue how crazy that is? Service games terminate all the time and take *everything* people have purchased with them. You can bet Wilson had to explain to Tencent bigwigs why they couldn't just do that with Path of Exile. All they would see is "old game dying, new game coming, terminate and monetise".
