South African server down?

Traceroute to the South African login server is giving me a 8ms result
zaf01.login.pathofexile.com
So not an Local ISP issue.

I always connect to the Frankfurt servers when selecting South Africa now.
All the people that I have spoken to about this has better connectivity to London or Amsterdam. (Including me)

I don't know why Frankfurt was chosen.

Are the servers down in South Africa and all traffic just passed on to Frankfurt?
Are the servers reduced to so few that everyone is migrating?

Also the issue that everyone is experiencing after 8pm at night feels like that traffic is being sent over a TCP tunnel that is throttled. The interactions seems to be queued and you get the lagging effect.

Please fix the servers or at least give us an update on the eta for a fix

Also getting < 10 ms pings back from zaf01.login.pathofexile.com, so the servers are online. They just don't wanna give us instances.

Can ALSO confirm that it's down (pushing me to Frankfurt). Other than the posts on this forum haven't found any sign of issues. Not even sure if GGG is aware that we're having trouble...

yeah this lag is so bad, when you flame dash the movement happens then fire 5secs after xD

Just wish they can reply and let us know if they are looking into it :/

Looks like the servers are back up

I sent support an email and like an hour later the servers were back up.

Now I'm not saying they fixed it because of my email... but I'm not not saying it either =D

Was just kicked out and now logged back in on Frankfurt. No SA servers available apparently.
