yeah my guess is that they underestimated how much more processign power a mercenary for every player costs, which overloaded the servers. I doubt it's ddos. have a bad combination of players and mercs on a server and you just bring it down to its knees, maybe that the variance in needs that seems like a ddods but isnt. I could be wrong though, but those issues happen around the world, not just the eu.

ddos is just a word to slap on to impress the ones that barely or theoretically know what that word means. As a reminder, there is a distinction between a d4 and a poe1(!) player.

I got more of the feeling that the communication team doesnt gather all the information they need. so their internal communication is kinda bad. Because the devs/architecture/monitoring folks should know that stability has been bad around the world.

ggg loves checklists, so here are some more points:

- does this affect only one region? (ask someone who actually knows and let them show you the proof)
- could it be that our new feature in a certain combination across all players on a server could lead to server destabilization. how would we test for/against that?
- did we actually get all the info from all the most reliable sources on that topic to base our decision upon?
- is our intended communication professional proof? (meaning: can it easily dismantled by someone who has indepth knowledge on the topic, so the comm can backfire)


And please stop this devolution into misleading blizzard communication, this has started with poe2, and we don't want to hear you tell us you got your sh together, we actually want you to get you sh together ;-)

That said, it's not THAT bad, just annoying, we just want you to level up from your experience not level down.

Alrighty, hope you're still all doin fine. It's nice to be back.

But if you need some ass whoopin to actually improve, we (or at least i) could do so too. just say the word ;-) we all could devolve into this hell unleashin 19th century drunken family a*user, but verbally. we mainly decide to not do that, because we still got the illusion of our happy world. Just please don't gamble with that.

GGG is the only one gaming company that being DDOS by more than 4 months and doin nothing, so dude is right.

Currently the leading issue we’re looking to address with the league is that a number of Mercenary skills, especially once you get to the middle of the campaign start to deal overwhelming amounts of damage to the player, often instantly killing you, you should expect a patch in the near future that puts all these skills more in line


This can happen way earlier if you randomly get the slam merc with intimidating cry in act 2 and are still not familier with their damage output or skill system.

I'm still scaling, but yeah even as a jugg with extra max res and endurance charges some of these mercs do obnoxious amounts of damage, like the guy with static strike dealing 60-80% of my hp with each zap, fire archer aoe burn draining me dead in 3/4 of a second.

Beyond the merc skills with a misplaced decimal though, biggest gripe has been getting randomly DC'd every other map or so. Don't know if that's the DDOS or something else.
Despite pause having been added, we don't have the poe 2 functionality where it pauses us where we were on DC, so sometimes lose whatever I was doing.
Why address it now, but not during last two/three weeks of phrecia after that one update for poe2 was launched? Instead we had someone on forum deleting our posts.
When it was happening on EU servers from 11AM to 3PM CET each day?

I'm glad someone decided to communicate instead of being dead silent tho.
bla bla bla, POE is the only game that has such lag problems since long years. The shader, ton of unnecessary settings, optimization is unacceptable and it's ridiculous that GGG didn't upgrade it.
I hope the DDOS will be dealt with, soon, but the content is great and I had as much fun as never before doing league start besides some server issues.
