widescreen resolution removed from the game.

I've got a better theory: some unpaid intern at GGG managed to successfully persuade someone with decision making power of the following hilariously terrible argument, which is laughably wrong at every point:

• Path of Exile is a competitive game
• GGG should limit the amount of competitive advantage players can have in this competitive game
• Expensive hardware like CPUs and GPUs and 240 Hz screens don't exist. We shouldn't care about that. Everyone plays this game at 60fps or below.
• Controller support on PC? Nah. Nobody will use that.
• Limit the use of 3rd party tools that give players all kinds of advantages? Pfft nobody uses 3rd party tools in our game. Our in-game Wiki is AWESOME! And everyone just uses trade chat anyway.
• The REAL threat to the competitive balance of our game is resolutions wider than 21:9
• SOLUTION!!!!!! Black bar those mofos. That'll learn em to cheat in our competitive game.
• PROFIT!

to be hoenst i dont think they will do something about it because not a single dev reads these forums
if you'd post that on reddit this topic would probably get downvoted to oblivion
its just as with everything regarding this game
as soon as you "criticize" something about the game its gg
and chris himself only mentions reddit in all of his interviews

this forum is just a small bubble with no value to the devs at all
probably this post will get deleted because "needlessly negative"

Looks like this feature is not making a comeback. 49 pages later and not a peep from developers... That right there is dedication to communication with the community.

thats the problem
it only gets recognition because it gets upvotes
not because its a highly discussed topic
i've seen topics on the forum with hundrets of pages
and ggg is still silent about it til today

I paid for a 3 month subscription + battle pass in another game.

However, Diablo 4 will be available for beta testing sometime around the turn of the year, so GGG can kiss our (you know what :) )...
