[3.11] Aquarism's Ice Shot [All Content]

I took a four year break from PoE and decided to get back into the game this league. Pretty safe to say I got super hooked again. I started Metamorph with this build. I can honestly say it is worth the time and effort. I started off okay, I think. Used a Tabula and some random gear to level up until Maps. For my bow, I literally survived on a cheap 6-linked Nuro's Harp and a Hyrri's bite. Obviously that could only get me so far though because at some point I really started to feel the hurt everyone has mentioned DPS-wise. I got lucky with some exalt drops and just slowly did my chaos recipes, did some currency trading, etc. and saved up enough to get my current gear. I'm starting to work my way up my red maps and it's going fine. The odd one shot every now and then but I just choose to assume its the league mechanics c:

It's two weeks or so into league and maybe I'm a bit slow but I'm pretty happy with how it's going so far. As of now, I can do t12 maps okay. I'm a slow baby so I've been too chicken to try any higher tier maps yet until I feel like I'm super comfortable but eventually I think I'll get the balls to lol. For bosses, I pop Vaal grace and pray to the gods while I barrage the crap out of it. 98% of the time I can burst it down fast enough before I get hit with the one shot. Before Metamorphs, I pop my ballistas down before I spawn it and same thing. I think the gloves I've got right now help because of the bleeding mods I have on them but I'm really liking the ballistas over a decoy totem. The Artillery Ballista feels like it does way more damage than the other two types even with just a 4Link, plus I think it also acts as a decoy as well wich really comes in clutch a lot of my fights and I'm totally convinced is the reason I don't rip as much. I'm not a crazy theory crafter, or build pro or anything at all like that. Like I said, this is my first time back in four years. But to anyone who thinks this build isn't beginner friendly, or that you should start off with something else so you can fund this one, I totally say just go for it. If I can do it, for sure anyone can. And to the people who are at a bump right now -- trust me, just keep going! Save what you can and make your improvements slowly! It'll work out. Heck, I'm still just running a 5L Hyrri's Ire but I don't mind since I'm using it for Ice shot and saving the 6L for barrage. I'm having a lot of fun just shattering everything :D

how can it happen that you got a HH but not able to read this guide respective the long text which explains everything some pages before :D

Can I play this with a 6l Lioneye's Glare?
Also I'm wondering how this build performs for a single target? Does it work well for killing metamorphs?

So with ricochet ascendancy skill aziri is pretty much unviable? Did my first try ever and I found in clone phase a clone always gets reflect damage. I just bursted myself over and over.

Should I just refund it?

Basically, HH required Luck, this requires brain and knowledge and i keep messing stuff up

You can, but the best bow will still be death opus. You need a few key items to perform well single target wise, death opus, hyrri ire, dying sun, barrage helm etc.

you can have steel skin a few lvl higher since your cwdt is over-levelled. you need a lot of life on your gear, try to aim for 5k, this should stop one-shots. Decoy totem might be better than ballista, try to get rare shaped/warlord quiver and craft frenzy on crit. you have quite optimal setup, any more upgrades would be min-maxing and expensive. glad the build is working out well for you

your circle of fear needs to be the exact 2 mods in gearing section to be good, use mark of the elder instead, or taming to fix resist. get a 6l and put barrage there. get dying sun. your cwdt level is wrong, steel skin wont trigger.

quality your flasks. get hyrri ire, 4 link is fine as long as you put barrage in 6l. buy barrage helm on a good base. you did not tick anything in config

you can either spend 5 regret to take away richocht, or use a quiver with pierce in it, then make sure dont get anything behind the pierced target.

you can use either, i prefer fork but nothing wrong with chain, in the end clear was never the problem.

How does this build feels for end game bosses ?

Did Shaper ( awakener lvl 7 i don't know it affect this boss ) , currently melting t16 bosses and conquerors ( an average 2/3sec ).

The only thing is: with shattering steel i must be on top of bosses to do dps, so for some it can be extremely hard not to die, so i would like something a bit safer, without sacrificing too much single target.

I would like to have a good idea before putting a lot of ex into this build ^^!

best way to do damage i feel is to take point blank and face tank bosses, use vaal grace to cap dodge chance. you can opt not to take and play the dodging game at half screen away.

This one is fine, could use an upgrade but should be lower on the list.

you should not have any problems with stats. just use an onyx and you should be able to use all gems.
