Why do you even play Path of Exile nowadays?
I play PoE "nowadays" cos it's a fucking good game :)

" Oh I've seen plenty of these mole people and been friends with them in Path of Exile as well. Doesn't look so good if you start giving it some deeper thought but at the same time who am I to sermonize others. I personally wasn't necessarily addicted to PoE, but gaming itself. I just "HAD TO" play at least something every day. Don't think I have much left to yap here; said and seen everything that I already wanted. See you, space cowboys! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twoOZHLFpiY Uploaded an awesome Exsanguinate Freeze Explosion build on the forums - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3508506

I feel it's a game with a great community and developers who are open about their roadmap.
I always get the feeling of something new when I start another league, be it the new mechanics or the new build I'm trying out. I feel that there aren't other games that are more interesting to play at the moment (this is very subjective though). I also love the economy of the game, even though the trading system could be improved. Have a great weekend exiles! Time for each of us to do each of us' business! One's demise is always one's own making.

" If you don't look at it from a competitive perspective, it's not relative to real life. I measure myself against others when I play competitive games like PUBG or LoL. When I play games like I consider single player, be that The Witcher, Elder Scrolls, Fallout or PoE (yes), I don't give a rats ass about others. You clearly do, with all your HH's and mirrors linked on the forums repeatedly. And that's OK. You're allowed to play competitive. Nothing wrong with that. But you seem unwilling or unable to see it from another perspective. Either that, or you are trolling. This whole thread screams "I'm trying to provoke you guys with my almighty perspective". While it is pretty cute, it is very narrow. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Because there are no "cookie cutter" builds in PoE, plus, new builds are coming out everyday.

I play because I find it entertaining. However, I also haven't played the game every league. Hadn't played PoE for a year and change before Betrayal came out. I also play HC, so the game is still challenging to me in that mode. I'm sure if I played SC, I'd be bored out of my mind and I played D2 exclusively HC back in the day, too. I typically don't play this game "competitively". I leave that for the games that have more focus on competitiveness like Battlefield and Hearthstone. I do tend to play all sorts of different games, so I gravitate toward the games I have an itch to play at that time.

I love the game, and have since 2013. However, I have not played in about a month and not sure when I will again.
My reason may be a bit different, or perhaps the same as some. For me, it is all about Red Maps. Not so much I cannot maintain them, it is I cannot get them. Meaning, people will not answer when I try to buy them. In fact, this league, I have two 90 plus toons and I have not purchased a single Red Map. I have tried many times. I still think we need an auction house, but let me explain. We only, for now, need two items in the AH. Maps, and currency. However, we all know what happened in Diablo. WoW AH worked fine, not sure now a days. Why did it work? Millions played that game way back when. So, how do we get an AH to work in POE? GGG has to go toe POE Ninja and get average prices of maps and currency and place a price ceiling on maps and currency, otherwise, trolls will place a huge crazy price on things for convenience or some reason and the AH will die. One day, when the market settles, the ceiling can be removed. But to start there has to be a ceiling. That is my reason I have moved on for now. |

Cause I'm a visionary. I can see that the game gets better and I want to be a part of that.
