Why do you even play Path of Exile nowadays?
I'm not really sure tbh, I was certainly hooked since Oriath hit (played some before but never seriously, don't think I've ever gotten past the first difficulty in those days) and managed to rack up some 1.4k hours in over a year.
I wouldn't say it fucked with my social life majorly but that's mostly because I'm not a terribly social person and most of my close friends live in different cities nowadays so hanging out with them is a weekend affair most of the time. That said, I wouldn't say it helped it much either, or some other areas of my life that could've used the hours. Still, it's hard to beat that RNG fueled rush of rolling trough shit and getting better at the game, dropping valuable things and the like. All that said, it has gotten stale, or it's more likely burnout, despite not doing a good chunk of the endgame content (that first shaper kill is still coming, one of these days, I swear) I feel entirely over the chore of the 10 Acts every league (several times too since I love making alts). Sure there's loads of stuff to do nowadays but when you look at it, it's mostly different shades of the same color, there's not much difference between running an incursion or a delve, it all comes down to murdering everything and hoping you don't die to a random oneshot you couldn't see due to the clusterfuck happening on-screen. At this point I'll still probably get back into it once the new league hits but unless some major changes are had I probably won't stick around for long. And that's fine tbh, I've had my fair share of fun out of this, but as with all things it's bound to come to an end eventually. |

No... really... it's just a game. Sorry that you can't see that.

I used to play it just for the strategy aspect which is appealing and fun. But Betrayal is different. GGG really stepped their game up. This time I played because the game itself has become brilliant in its own rough around the edges kind of way. Recently, someone asked me to list my 10 favorite games of all time... and for the first time ever PoE made the list at number 9.This noce good game has become a great game. And it can still become so much better.

Your ex-girlfriends/boyfriends must just love you to pieces.
For real though, it's okay to move on. It is just a game after all. Have fun with Street Fighter. New Mortal Kombat looks pretty neat too! |

" Dang man thats some dark stuff. Part of me believes this because i know someone personally who just plays every second they have. They seem so misreable but they still play and I even asked why do you play? They said because its fun, they also get tonnnnnsssss of lootboxes as well. It sucks because I know the dude isnt happy. You can hear the misery in his voice. hes a grown adult but that doesnt mean adults dont need someone to help them. I also believe that doesnt make some a child. Everyone has there flaws. |

I generally play PoE when I want to listen to podcasts, it's busy enough to keep my hands and eyes working so I don't doze off, yet mindless enough to leave my mind focused on what I'm listening to.

Because people are different.

To me, it's more like watching a movie, hold one button and watch things die. I think GGG was intending it to be this way.
