Just respecced my level 83 VD/BS inquisitor into this. Did Uber Lab first go easily, Hydra and Phoenix then went and did Shaper first go at level 83 still, which is my first kill ever (excluding golemancer kills while dead).

This is BS, have died 3 times tonight with fkng 11k ES, on low BS maps, t12s, last one was a full one hit from the summit boss (goatman), was 20ft away letting the totems do their thing and he sends 3 flameballs my way, bam, 11k ES gone, ressurect at checkpoint.
These defenses are horrible, any map with elemental weakness if wise oaks is down you just get wrecked. I assumed totems would pull and hold atleast some hate but the majority of ranged mobs and spellcasters just ignore them and spam me hard. Unless I can move some things around and get actual purities in here, not elements idk how this is going to work. Im lv97 on my main and go 2-3 weeks between deaths, a death those lvs is like an entire day or 2 of playing and 2ex in supplies. " This kind problem can sometimes occur and after reading your last post it seems this is due to you respeccing an old build into this one at mapping tier and have not learnt how to mechanically play this build so you end up dying in ways that none of the other users including the hardcore players have problems with. Those of use who run ele weakness maps generally have a removes curse flask as well as the wise oak and alternative between them to keep 100% uptime. The only map I reroll is ele reflect. I turn off wrath to run cannot regen guardian maps but don't need to change anything to run 60% less regen ones as its the ES recharge not the regen that does the most survival in this build. If you are not confident enough to run these maps I understand that but the build is very capable of doing so. Spells are far more dependent on how good you are at recognising and avoiding then attacks so If you struggle on this aspect of the game I recommend a quartz flask and possibly swapping into the incandescent heart option on the chest as those focus defense against elements | |
" First of all, don't blindly follow the guide. Look on whats missing on your character then improve it in order to fix for your character, because if you dont have the same rolled items as on guide you should fix it somehow (jewels etc) I'm playing this build since league start and it works better than most of the crappy popular build around. Invested 2 ex tops to this build and its performing really good. If you die with 11k es, than i think it is your problem and you have to get good a bit. Because my character have 9.5k ES, still its pretty confortable to play and i didn't die between 91 - 93 level, even i'm only farming red tier maps. I tested this build on 8 mods tier14+ maps, killed all guardians corrupted, t15 elder, uber atziri, shaper and all was easy as cake. Check my profile as a proof. " I spent a week working on getting through to try and get him to spawn but gave up as its a frustrating experience and you can't just buy a set. I'm very curious as to how tough he is since people do seems to have trouble with him compared to how easy shaper and T15 Elder are individually. It might be like when atziri was first introduced and that it'll take time to learn its mechanics. If movement and totem destruction is a problem then it might be better to keep increased AOE instead of conc effect and place the totems at a distance. I did that for AOE rolled pheonix maps. Apparently its cold damage heavy so swapping out the Jade flask for a Sapphire flask is probably good. | |
Pretty moronic "git gud" response but ya thanks. Once again today on a lowly racecourse map I get frozen and bursted down before being able to react, brine king doesnt seem to help at all. I get frozen constantly, like any time I take cold damage bam, frozen.
Dosent seem to cut it, does the build work, sure, I clear the majority of maps with ease and bosses are np but about 1 in 30 maps I get frozen by trash mobs and just nuked to fkng hell regardless of the map mods before I can react. I can get all 3 purities on and discipline and run an watcher's eye with immune to freeze, but then I have to give up wrath which I dont want to do and swapping out Vertex or Sintrek for alphas howl or wanderlust etc for freeze immunity is too big of a hit on ES. Idk, the majority of the time yes everythings a cakewalk, but 94+ that 1 in 30 map death erases all 30 maps. Its not rocket science, you drop the totems and gtfo, I dont think i really need to learn anymore on that aspect, it took all of 15min to pick up that. It just feels like a mathil build running around with 75/75/76 resists and being frozen constantly. | |
Build was SO FUN! Did all content in the game with a elementalist shock version.

Making progress in HoTGM. If I clear it, I will post my strategy. It seems to be effective so far. I've cleared 3 halls in two attempts. It requires a bit of defensive and debuff tactics, but it seems to be working.
Halls and Uber Elder is the only content I haven't cleared, or tried. Haven't gotten a shot at Uber Elder. EDIT: Got to the end of 4th hall(Twisted) and had one player left. He one shot 13.5k of ES. So, that brought that to an end. Pretty lame. I think the build is capable so I will post my technique. I run two curses: Enfeeble and Poacher's mark. Enfeeble is obvious. Poacher's mark lowers evasion which strips down defense in a pvp environment. I use an +1 curse Astramentis (not cheap) to get the 2nd curse without having to spec into it. 2nd: I use an additional evasion flask--Stibnite Flask of Reflexes (100% increased evasion rating during flask). This isn't as big of a boost as Jade Flask, but it brings my evasion over 40k. 3rd: I run Concentrated Effect, Damage on Full, Elemental Focus, Elemental Attacks, AW, and Block Chance reduction support. This keeps the immediate dps boost to pop off enemies quick. Block Chance Reduction is very, very good in PVP, especially since it allows your totems to cut through max block--one of the major road"blocks" in Halls. I stack 4 totems at the barrier before I cross the line, then shield charge back and let them come to me. I place the totems on top of me and move back a few steps. If they leap slam/lightning tp, etc, I shield charge to try and stun lock best I am able. I keep pulling back and pick them off. If I see an open window I will shield charge and lay down 2 totems then try to stun again. A lot of them think they can charge right through your totems, or pick them off easily, and that is their downfall. You can take out a lot of peeps just laying down totems and pulling back. Anyhow, I am by no means a master, but I am learning that playing defensively and being patient has helped, immensely. Sorry for the wall of text, but thought I would share.
