GGGs reasoning on not making a SFL?

Ok, so lets say they add more mods which create more viable options than before. The mod pool is now even further diluted, gear is useful in more specific cases and drop rates of good items is still low but now there's an even lower chance of finding something useful for YOUR character. At what point does this make trading less necessary?
With rares: You actually have a very valid point. As the diversity of affixes increases, the number of rares and rare-effecting currency which drops should also increase.

With uniques: the structure of the GGG unique system voids the argument for increasing drop rates. Shavronne's Wrappings did not drop less when Infernal Mantle was introduced; the chance of Infernal Mantle is additional to the chance of Shavronne's Wrappings. So no change in the drop rate of previously existing uniques would be required, because, technically, every new unique they release increases the unique drop rate (it's the old chance, plus the chance of the new unique dropping).

Kinda going back to previous post, getting rid of monopolies on the market does not change anything. As long as it is required to trade to get an upgrade that is good for your build, people will ask for a SFL where that arbitrary trading part isn't necessary. One of the only ways to make that possible without breaking the game for traders is to buff the drop rate of good items or orbs and remove trading.

Did the addition of Infernal Mantle make playing self found easier?

Adding more uniques very rarely fixes the problem, because it is highly unlikely that the new unique will be useful for your build. Also, if the unique is very strong it can have a big effect on power creep. How much difference do you think Andvarius has had on the economy, given that any power-farmer is likely wearing two of these?

Edit: Sorry about the terrible flow, my brain is all over the place. Overall I still think SFL is the best solution unless GGG plan on making some other really big changes. They can increase the number of uniques by the hundreds and it still won't provide a solution that works for everyone. This is really a question of, do you like trading? If so play regular league. If not, play SFL.

No Scrotie, it is not.

Unless you are one of those players who think that build is finished by level 80.

He is right, you are not forced to trade. Thinking a drop rate buff would make SFL any better or equal to trading is foolish.

foolish is you

there are not enough alchs, chaos and chisels to roll maps
especially chaos

that's a first roadblock game is actively putting on you

it is not a difficulty roadblock: i can do any map now except some truly retarded bosses everyone skips anyway

it is "because fuck you" roadblock
I can't find DirkAustin on _any_ ladder past or present.
Is it your second account?
hunt magic/packsize and ran out of alterations

only one transmute strat works (for small values of "works")

There are not enough of them? Then farm them like everyone else. Trading promotes farming for selling them and SF promotes farming for self use. Therefore, no SFL needed.

I feel I just told you that Santa doesn't exist.
Sorry about that.

What, santa doesnt exist? Who shot santa?

And if i can farm orbs and use them then so can others.
you know situation would not be that idiotic under different scenarios:

1) unlimited maps, small amount of orbs
just 1-alc and do whatever mod game throws at you

2) rare maps, unlimited orbs
chaos until good roll

#2 would be even better because it promotes rip mods

but no, we have both rare maps and rare orbs
