GGGs reasoning on not making a SFL?

If you dont like the game GGG made why do you play it? There are other games out there you know? None of the SFL proponents have answered these 2 questions: Why not play SF as is and why not just move on to a different game? There wont be a SFL and you ahve to deal with it.

POE has a wonderful base ARPG platform so having a SFL option would be a great addition: why we want it in POE and not move on to a different game.

It's similar to looking at the question "why play hardcore - when you die just delete your character" - because it's a fun way to play the game for some people. Now: hardcore is totally NOT my cup of tea and I don't play Hardcore - but I also wouldn't begrudge or even try to eliminate that style of gameplay from any game just because I personally think it's stupid. Hope this helps you understand things.
Tired of wasting my breath. The anti-SFL movement refuses to even attempt to understand why we want a 100% legit realm.

Did you even read what I wrote.

You just made yourself look sillier than normal.

I see people are still touting off: "why is there a separate HC League?"

If there wasn't a separate league, people will still have all their items on character death. So it is not real HC because they just have to level up again and re-equip their GG items.

If items were destroyed completely on death with the character then HC could have been in the same league as SC. However it still wouldn't be the same as a pure HC league as currently because everyone would make MF SC characters to fund their HC characters since they can easily trade between SC and HC.

I say it again. The separate league is to keep the economies separate. Since SF players do not engage with the economy they don't need a separate league. Unless their hidden agenda is increased drop rates in a SF league. This is not difficult to understand.

Just like someone with a SF character could make an ubbershopper and use the items on their SF?

Come on, guys. Stop with this. It IS just the same that a HC character could play HC in SC by self imposed rules and the HC experience would be possible to a point but fall short of expectations. Replace HC with SF and SC with current league.

"You can play SF already" is a poor excuse.
"You can play HC already" is a comparison.
Pointing out the flaws in the second statement is pointing out the flaws in the first.

Now, that said. I'll repeat; I don't think SFL is the answer. But not for this reason.

I really like your sign anuhart :)
I am not against this idea of a SFL. (Although I think it is retarded).

Just note that if it ever comes as a seperate league you'll have to pay a monthly subscription fee. And it is gonna be pretty high to make the effort worth it.

So if you can't lay down big bucks on the table, you can completely forget about it.

Why is that so? Why can't the current funding proceed there too?
Is really so hard to understand that GGG don't want to make a separate self found league? why keep asking for it over and over again?

Also OP got an official response, why this thread is still going like other 5967496489 "pro or against SFL"?

You are not against idea of SFL, but you just stated some pretty bold and ignorant conclusions to demotivate those who would like to see a SFL one day, yea, not against SFL at all...

Probably because of the official response.
The reasons are poor, they are cop outs, excuses, they don't really answer.

If the official response was "because bananas" would it still be expected that people just accept it? Because the reasons given so far make as much sense.

"You can play SF in current leagues" would be fine if not for the end game currency sink content gates, with orb drops that fall far short of opening those gates, far short of any crafting, far short of anything other than a pyramid system which simply can't sustain long term. Even those at the top of the pyramid are relying on a middle and bottom player base that is not able to be maintained long term. People try PoE, they leave PoE, new players try PoE, they leave PoE. Yes some remain, some make it up to the top of the pyramid and replace some players that have left through boredom, boredom that comes with how easy this game is after using the orbs of thousands of others.

The problem is that there is not an infinite number of players to come and go and keep the pyramid economy intact. We've been seeing this throughout PoE, GGG now are making changes to attempt to keep new players longer, tutorials, checkpoints. It's another bandaid solution, most low and mid pyramid players will not stay and there cannot be a pyramid economy with only a top.

There are changes needed to the game, the pyramid system is doomed to failure. The changes that would truly make SF viable in current leagues, the answer to the SF problem and the true reason why SFL isn't required, are changes that the game needs for longevity and player retention any way.
