GGGs reasoning on not making a SFL?

I would have so much more respect for these pro-SFL posts if at the very least they were open and honest about where they are coming from with their arguments.

There is literally not a single valid reason period for having a permanent SFL. Not a single swaying post ever made on the subject.

So again... come clean and save yourself some face here: "I just want super duper loot to drop from the sky."

Man up.

;)

no hehe i just dont want to deal with the retarded people in trade channels no more. your post is a perfect example what is going on there period

A separate hardcore league is necessary for the item sink to work properly. You need the league to enforce the removal of items from the league upon death feature against the other HC players. By forcibly removing them from a HC league on death, they are not around any longer and thus cannot elect to trade/still use their equipped gear in HC, thereby avoiding the item sink.

So basically, while you could play HC in a SC league, you couldn't play HC in the current SC league to the standard and expectation.

So why is it easy for the devs and others to simply say you can play SF in the current leagues?

Is a SFL the answer? No, I don't agree that it is.
Can you play SF in the current leagues to the standard and expectation? If your expectation is to play end game, to play hardcore (play style not mode)? No, playing this game SF as it is, results in being gated from content and crafting, swatting flies in lowball content.

There are many improvements this game could have to make self found viable, challenging and hardcore in the current leagues. The statement "you can play SF in the current leagues" would work, then.

GGG just emphasise their pretence in creating this so called hardcore aRPG with their reasons for no SFL. There are several reasons, imo, why SFL isn't the answer. None of them have been cited by GGG. Instead they give these poor excuses.
Casually casual.

Self found has its issues too.

1. Mercy of RNG. For example I have 6 Tal Rasha set chests for my wizard in RoS and cant make set still on over 300 hours of gameplay. Some people made set first day. In other-words you're at mercy of RNG. Trade corrected this random problem in past - like I could trade one of my chests for someone who found a bunch of helmets but had no chest - now you're screwed. You could go a lifetime and never make a set or get weapon/item you want.

2. Pigeon holes you into xyz builds and character. You play what you find not necessarily what you want.

3. Finally - Min maxing is almost impossible.

I used to be a self found advocate until playing RoS this past month. Now I'm not so sure.

Only you wont be forced to play in this league. It would be a choice.

Most do not play the default and default hc leagues due to economy.
Many such as myself don't want to start fresh in middle of ladder season and end up not playing for two months and instead spent that time on the forum complaining.

I am at the point now where I don't even want to play in the 4 month ladders because players are purchasing items there with real money and the same players boot you out of map games because you are not up to their level of ''skill''.

So you mean like a self founded permanent league? That would be cool since standard leagues are trash bins and would give some permanence for those who dont want to ladder. But the issues I noted above do not change. You'd be pretty pissed if you needed a Blood Magic gem to even make a build work and one never drops. Or an item like wolfs howl or something. Youd never 6l anything. So basically they'd have to really up drop rates. But that only improves RNG odds never guaranteed.

chance orbs say hello
So, from GGG point of view, there is no need for a SFL to exist at all?
How are you guys gonna make SFL happen?

There is so much patchworking going on in PoE, SFL might just come around one of these days.

It's not going to happen. As much as a large number of people would love it to happen let's be honest: GGG isn't interested in money. Arrogance also has a hand to play here too. SFL is a dream that will never... ever hit fruition.

If you dont like the game GGG made why do you play it? There are other games out there you know? None of the SFL proponents have answered these 2 questions: Why not play SF as is and why not just move on to a different game? There wont be a SFL and you ahve to deal with it.
