GGGs reasoning on not making a SFL?
" why would an opinion from this guy even counts, his highest character playing for 2 years is like what most of us can do within 4 days, is like a baby commenting if soccer should or should not allow referi to watch video replays to make the game fair. your point is valuable but your experience discredit you sorry IGN: RFFP

" Ambush. Caving confirmed. And, judging by the huge popularity, it's a decision that many players agree with. PS - Please confirm you do not want more high level maps to drop. Last edited by bluefalcon74#6991 on Apr 27, 2014, 12:44:56 PM

" This is one of the most arrogant things I've ever seen written. Characters were wiped constantly through closed beta, you have no idea how much he/she has played. Not only that but watching the evolution of the game gives you a much deeper understanding of core mechanics and their justifications than players who joined after the big decisions were already made. The game you think you know so well is only the current meta, you have no basis to compare it to like many of the veterans. Regardless of your or my stance, you can't dismiss the fact he has another year of experience on you. " The mass of people who demand higher drop rates or SFL with overall higher drop rates, or any other sort of unrealistic idea, can never expect to really be taken seriously. They are always there, and no matter how high you raise the drops, they will never be satisfied. Putting all the suggestions regardless of their quality into the same unrealistic-bullshit basket is an extreme which shows the poster doesn't really care for much else but joining the flock of constantly whining sheep in lack of common sense and no honest and helpful criticism of the game. There is a large difference between "caving in" and making a sensible game change which makes sense design wise and business wise. Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.

" D2: I felt satisfied TQ: satisfied Sacred 1/2: satisfied Dungeon Siege 1/2: satisfied In fact vevery single other ARPG I've ever played managed to deliver on this. Yet, somehow, for PoE there's just no chance of reaching a balance. People are playing the fuck out of Ambush because it's delivering a more satisfying experience than everything else (including you.) |

" I play in all leagues and dont notice a big difference between ambush and standard. |

" I've heard that accessing end game content in Ambush as a solo-self-found player, due to boxes, is considerably different to the other leagues. I've even heard that end game content can be sustainable. The boxes, incidentally, that will be nerfed (I'd guess considerably) when the leagues end and they come to the parent leagues. Are you saying your experience was different? Casually casual.

"My personal belief is that solo mapping — assuming done over a long enough span to essentially render luck not a factor — is currently sustainable in Standard, but barely. By "barely" I mean that you have to play the map management game perfectly pretty much all the time, and making any type of mistake — burning too much currency on a map, or not burning enough — will set you back. I guess one way of looking at it is saying that the perfectly skilled wouldn't have problems with solo map sustainment, but a normal human being would. This leads to a very frustrating situation when one eventually fails, because even doing things 98% right results in eventual failure. Not impossible; merely unreasonable. Cartographer's boxes allow significant breathing room for human error. You can make some mistakes and still get an A as your final grade. Cartos themselves are actually a test of their own, and knowing how to roll them properly is a nice skill to have. My personal belief is that even if Cartos are toned down significantly when added to the main game, they'll still provide a good deal of breathing room. They'd need to be nerfed very hard in order to lead to a situation where solo mapping still feels unsustainable for humans. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
